So Secret Australia Gets A Special Box

Another myth from Guyon Espiner’s hack job on the offshore industry from Sunday’s 60 Minutes  is that Australia is screaming at New Zealand over  its Foreign Trust law.  A New Zealand accountant at a Big Four firm sent this to me.

Discussing Australia is a complete red herring as the declaration form requires agents to tick a box if the settlor is Australian. Peter Dunne should have said that. Here is the IRD reference IR607.  You would have to be a wee bit thick to think the IRD computer did not spit that straight away to the ATO at the tick of a box 3.  Espiner conveniently overlooked this.

As much at home writing editorials as being the subject of them, Cam has won awards, including the Canon Media Award for his work on the Len Brown/Bevan Chuang story.  And when he’s not creating the news, he tends to be in it, with protagonists using the courts, media and social media to deliver financial as well as death threats.

They say that news is something that someone, somewhere, wants kept quiet.   Cam Slater doesn’t do quiet, and as a result he is a polarising, controversial but highly effective journalist that takes no prisoners.

He is fearless in his pursuit of a story.

Love him or loathe him.  But you can’t ignore him.
