Yeah Romney kicked Barry’s arse but it will probably be all academic in the end. Sadly i suspect the Democrats have push the entitlement culture and welfare state nannyism to the tipping point, this will get them over the line. Barry may well obtain the outcome she beast had wished for this country. A population dependent on the crumbs brushed from the table of their socialist overlords, they’re screwed.

  • Greg

Nows the time to put the left in its place and that’s on the back benches, this applies to the whole world. Have doubts then just look at the mess we are all in.

  • I’m no Romney fan, and I make no predictions as to the election winner, but it is important that we realise the mainstream media is not an objective reporter of events.

They are mostly party members at the front line of the Democrat campaign to re-elect Obama.

Their strategy is this- to create a mood of inevitability concerning Obama’s re-election and therefore dissuade already disaffected Republicans from bothering to vote.

So when the Democrats see people saying things like “It will all be academic in the end”, they rub their hands in glee at their strategy bearing fruit.

We must not be fooled, and we must not ever dance to the tune of the Democrat controlled mainstream media. Obama’s re-election is not the fait accompli his media agents are making it out to be.

    • 2ndAmendment

The election is now over. Romney has won and the Americans are on course to take back the Senate from the communists. They will have a majority, and the constitutional option will unable them to govern!

The only way this can be stopped is massive voter fraud. That will be much harder this year (something else not factored into the polls) although it is still possible the Communists could steal Florida out from Romney – and thus take the electoral college – but there’s no way they’ll take the popular vote without fraud.

      • Gazzaw

What Communists in Florida AT? Give us a couple of names at least.

Dare I say the only ones that exist live under your bed.

        • onelaw4all

          Here you go:
Rep. Corrine Brown at national level and a mere 27 or so at state level:

        • 2ndAmendment

Easy: Bill Nelson, Al Lawson, Alan Grayson, Jessica Ehrlich, Keith Fitzgerald , Joe Garcia… and that’s just for startrs.

      • Oscar Wilde

“Never argue with an idiot. They will bring you down to
their level, then beat you with experience.”

  • Colin

It‘s been 30 years since Markson Sparks! started business in Sydney in 1982 carrying out publicity campaigns, running events and managing celebrities such as Mike Tyson show live in Brisbane , Sydney , Melbourne , Adelaide and Perth from November 15 to 21.
Markson Sparks event division has organised more than 200 fundraising lunches and dinners donating over $40 million to charity.

  • Lion_ess

Apparently teachers don’t like this idea.

An offer to provide schools with a stringent paedophile screening process, gets this response from Lorraine Kerr, President of the NZ Schools Trustee Association. “…. teachers would turn their backs on the profession if a screening process like Big Buddy’s was implemented”

    • pukakidon

They will have to flock back to the churches to hide their deviancy and get close to children.

    • Dave

Ah, Lioness Perhaps those teachers turning their backs on the profession are the ones we WANT to walk away, the more professional teachers might even say GOOD RIDDANCE to those that walked. Besides, how can (all) “teachers” afford to turn their backs on the profession, not all of them have interchangeable skills for other professions.

    • Teachersrock

“Apparently teachers don’t like this idea”

That’s not what the article says at all.

And having read the article I suspect not only are the targeting possible pedo’s but also looking for keep out homosexuals. Also if this was put in place here, I also suspect within a year the same people who are cheering for it on here will be bitching at the cost of it to the Government.

      • Lion_ess

Meg, Teachersrock, Fozzie – correct – the article does not say that. I was making the comment about the article, which is why it wasn’t quoted.

    • fozzie

With an offer of $1000 per screening – 90,000 teachers – that guy has $$ signs in his eyes – some charity !

      • Lion_ess

Much cheaper than Court cases after a kiddy-fiddling event has occurred. Also I would have thought they would only have to screen the males.

        • Teachersrock

Ahhh a sexist agenda as well. If your a man and you want to work with kids you must be a potential kiddie fiddler.

      • pukakidon

It is stops one Pedo doing sick harm to Children and initiating the cycle then it is well worth it.

  • Meg

Given the number of mistruths Romney told during the debate the win will probably be a pyrrhic one.

    • 2ndAmendment

Truth hurts. Romney spoke the truth. Your Kenyan lied from the start and kept on lying. Luckly, the American people can see through lies and know the truth will set them free.

      • Meg

Romney told a rather large number of mistruths during the debate and the media is calling him on it.

The American born President Obama lost the debate no doubt, but he will win the election.

        • GeorgeRomero

Hi Meg , can you list Willards lies please?

          • kowtow

Obummer ,the darling of the deceitful media, is shit without his speech writers and teleprompter. This has been proven on many occassions but never highlighted, unlike for Bush whose every stumble was gleefully reported the world over,
Anyone who has just realised this after 4 years is thick.

          • GeorgeRomero

Hi Kowtow , Exactly. Also ‘The One’ has had his ass completely covered by the msm from the day of his birth onto the political scene.Empty chair by Clint was not lost on millions of conservative people , but the leftistists just could not get their heads around it.They are so fuckin ignorant

        • onelaw4all

Please list some of these “mistruths” please Meg.

          • Meg

Yes this is written by a democrat, but it sums up a lot of what the media in the US is saying:

And this is just a brief look at Romney playing it fast and loose, mimicking his running mates relationship with the truth.

          • onelaw4all

Why don’t you pick just one or two that you think you can defend.
I promise, this won’t hurt (much)

As for the “summing up a lot of what the media in the US is saying” part, the Democratic hack you linked and the bulk of the MSM are interchangable, so you rightly cut out the middleman.
            Good thinking.

  • 2ndAmendment

That was the most watched debated for the last 20 years – and the most emphatic victory for a challenge ever.

Rasmussessn (the least skewed national poll) now shows Romney leading in Florida, Virginia, and up at least 2% across the US – mirroring what shows.

Most Kiwis – in fact most people still living in the “Welfare West” completely misunderstand the crucial important of this election, of the choice the US will make, and what it will mean for us.

With this election, The Welfare state has come to an end. Once the US is no longer a welfare state, one welfare states will be treated as illegal competitive advantages under the WTO & TPP, NZ will no longer be competitive trading in to the US. Hell we’re already only competitive in Asia providing cheap but higrade milk protein — once people are involved, not cows, NZ is worse than Greece.

Remember that in spite of NZ’s so-called “low wages” – for an employer, paying an Aussie $1 is at least 133% as productive, often nearer 150%, than paying a Kiwi that same dollar. That is, against just Oz, NZ’s wages need to drop by 30% to be even in the same ballpark.

This election is going to set the tone for the next 100 years, the way the New Deal set the course for the Welfare West in the 1930s. Except we’ve learned from those mistakes – this will be the end of welfare, the end of “state” education, and “state” communist health in the US and everywhere that wants to keep a functioning economy

More than ever: NZ needs to move into the 21st century. Stop all welfare. Stop all state healthcare and education. Stop all corporate tax and FBT. Stop all tax breaks for the “middle class” – move to a flat, capped rate so no-one pays more than $10,000 personal income tax.

If Key had the guts, he could still move now, change from the Labour party policies he’s been running for the last four years, and make NZ a country of winners, of makers, of success, rather than of losers, takes, budgets & failure

    • fozzie

Great and if Romney wins can you promise to move there – Ill come around and help you pack – the US needs a few more raging nutters like you !

  • Teletubby

Is any one else having problems with comments initially posting and then disappearing?

    • Dr Wang

Yes, half a thread disappeared yesterday (still no sign of it)…

      • Teletubby

That’s “guttering.” I posted what I thought was a particularly witty comment yesterday, when I looked back it had some thumbs ups but then shortly after that it disappeared :(

        • There seems to be an issue with moderation…I was pretty busy doing other stuff yesterday to stay on top of it

  • LesleyNZ

    Clint Eastwood was spot on.

  • Tristanb

Our girlfriend is back in the papers:

    Baby ends mum’s crime spree
“Billie-May Graham, 18, pleaded guilty in March to owning a bull terrier, Munter, which attacked and seriously injured a man.”

    • GregM

Yeah saw that. Good on her, she looks a whole lot better and I wish her the best.

    • Till she hits the meth again.

  • Mr_Blobby

It really doesn’t matter who the US voters vote for. With a 2 party democracy, whoever they vote for it will be more of the same old same old.

They may not give Romney a Nobel peace prize straight away but little else will change.

    • 2ndAmendment

Yeah right. Luckly for the US and the rest of the world – the US has democracy not MMP.

There is a real choice at these elections: capitalism or communism.

A vote for Osama is a vote to destroy Israel. A vote for Romney will reduce Tehran to glowing glass. That’s a pretty big difference there.

      • Meg

Are you that dim witted that you really think Romney would bomb Iran? Really????

And do please explain how American born President Obama is going to bring about the end of Israel. Facts too, not made up right wing tinfoil hat bullshit.

        • 2ndAmendment

Are you that dim witted that you really think Romney would bomb Iran?

I sure hope he does, as doe everyone who thinks Israel has a right to exist.

          • Meg

Sooooooooooo using your logic any President who hasn’t bombed Iran is anti Israel. Soooo that would be all of them then. And in the AMAZING off chance that Romney wins, he won’t either. Thus again applying your logic, he would be anti Israel.

Isn’t misguided ramblings made by right wing nutters fun to apply to the real world. Shows how silly they are.

          • 2ndAmendment

Both Bushes saw the need to hit Iraq when it was building nukes. But, kept down by Dems in congress, they had to send in troops rather than taking a strategic solution. The result – a quagmire they’re still trying to dig there way out of.

A broadside from a single Ohio class is the only effective way to end Iran’s nuke programme, and to ensure that Iran’s economy can never reconstruct that programme — all without costing a single American or Jewish life.

          • Meg

            Ohh lord. Tinfoil hatter alert.

    • kowtow

One of the really important things a Pres does is Supreme Court nominations. Obummer stays in more feminists and pinkos get nominated.

  • Hagues

Wonder if he put as much effort in looking for a job as he did fighting for his “entitlements”?

    • Lion_ess

FFS he spent two years chasing $3.73 of his “entitlements” He could have made more with his one-man freak-show, sitting on a blanket with a tip-hat

  • andrew

Had to have a laugh at Russell Norman on 60 minutes tonight commenting on the use of foriegn trusts in NZ for foreigners to avoid paying tax in foriegn jurisdictions. He said how it undermined NZ’s tax system and we couldnt have the rich not paying their fair share.

It simply showed how little grasp he has on financial matters. NZ foriegn trusts don’t help NZ’ers avoid tax in NZ, in which case I can’t understand how it undermines NZ’s tax system.

God help us if he ends up as finance or revenue minister in the future.

    • kowtow

I had to larf at the boy Guyon trying desperately to make a big deal out of the tax “avoidance” so it’s not illegal, but but but it’s immoral.
Since when has any wanker on TV cared a shit about morality?
