One News reports that some budding Peter Jacksons are roaming the shopping centres. ?The only problem is that they’re trying to get Upskirt Footage:

Christchurch police are warning Christmas shoppers to be on the alert for people covertly filming up women’s skirts at shopping malls.

Police have arrested four males over separate incidents in Eastgate shopping mall, Westfield Riccarton and the Eastgate Warehouse over the past three weeks.

Detective Sergeant Craig Farrant said police had “received reports of a number of instances where males have been seen covertly filming under females’ skirts using a range of devices – from cell phones to covert camera systems”.

The alleged offenders, aged between 30 and 55, have yet to appear in court.

Now, here’s something you might not know:

In New Zealand it is illegal to make a visual recording of a person’s intimate parts in any setting in which the person has a “reasonable expectation of privacy”. This includes public and private settings. It is also illegal to possess or distribute such images — Wikipedia

But here is the twist:

In another case, a teacher is currently before the courts on charges relating to an incident at Westfield Riccarton in November.

A teacher you say?

That Teacher Registration process is doing a fine job, isn’t it?
