WhaleTech: Organic Emitting Light

Philips have been working on a new non-point light source where the surface itself is the source of light.  This can even be extended to transparent surfaces, so during the day you can look  into the garden, and when it gets dark, the same surface becomes opaque and emits light.

Seems a bit nerdy now, but I can see this entering our homes over the next 10 years or so as unit cost drops.
