Guns Are The Best Deterrent

Crime doesn’t pay, especially on the end of a shotgun as one dumb crim has found out.

This is the moment a furious homeowner armed with a shotgun caught a serial burglar carrying away his neighbor’s 47-inch flat-screen TV.

The alleged burglar, Gilbert Nunez, 27, had broken into Paul Cavazos’ condo building in San Antonio, Texas, at least twice before – including once when he stole a laptop from Mr Cavazos’ home while his girlfriend was home.

In December, when Nunez allegedly carried off another TV that belonged to Mr Behrens, Mr Cavazos’ girlfriend called police to report that he was still in the neighborhood.

Mr Behrens said it took 30 minutes for officers to arrive and by that time, Nunez was gone.

When Mr Cavazos and his girlfriend came home from an office party on Saturday and saw the thief trying to sneak off with a neighbor’s television in broad daylight, he was ready.

‘I grabbed my shotgun. You know, I’ve been thinking about this for a long time,’ he told KSAT-TV.

Of course while being a good deterrent, sometimes executive action has to be taken to make an armed offender more civil:

As much at home writing editorials as being the subject of them, Cam has won awards, including the Canon Media Award for his work on the Len Brown/Bevan Chuang story. When he’s not creating the news, he tends to be in it, with protagonists using the courts, media and social media to deliver financial as well as death threats.

They say that news is something that someone, somewhere, wants kept quiet. Cam Slater doesn’t do quiet and, as a result, he is a polarising, controversial but highly effective journalist who takes no prisoners.
