Herald warns to watch out for “wind and run” this weekend

When will it end?

This was sent via the tipline:

Herald Bombs

Hope I don’t get caught in the run, I might get wet.

Here comes the rain again…just like Herald Bombs, it never, ever stops coming.

Another shitter of a story this morning,
“Millie takes time off to be with ailing dad”
Just all about Millie taking time off work to see Paul, Michael Barnett wanking on with how good they are giving her the time off, then the Horrid really make a meal of it by talking about her drug problem…..from 4 years ago….and telling us what we already know.

Then the cutting edge news really kicks off:

According to one source, Ms Elder has taken an interest in makeup artistry and may be looking to leave the chamber to study the craft.”

ffs, jibber jabber from start to finish. Oh yes, Paul is sick too, but don’t let that get in the way of 4 year old news about drug addictions.

Sad but its all about Millie – no wonder Rueben lives overseas.

That is uncalled for – these are two kids having to be there for their Dad – quit the bottom feeding … I have not much love of Paul Holmes – he his demeanour and political bias have really annoyed me over the years, but now is the time to show some respect, for him and his family !

Ok , I’ve got to say this . The blog posts have to be spell-checked before posting . Random typo’s are evident , so if we are going to throw mud , we need to be clean at this end .

    • Um blog posts are written without the benefit of a sub editor / proof reader. They are written late at night in addition to a full time job as the Editor of a newspaper and also ongoing work on Radio. There is an expectation that a newspaper that is paid to deliver news and that has paid staff will have better proof reading than a blog!

AND, an amazing job given Cam has a full time job etc, BTW, you left out Family man and part time hunter. Tips hat to Cam, your energy and commitment is astounding.

If people want good quality article, spell checked, and corrected, suggest “The Australian, The Economist, or NY Times”.

It is not a criticism , spanishbride , simply an observation . It is difficult to proofread your own work , as you tend to read what you think , not what’s on the screen . The trick is to read backwards .

        • I understand where you are coming from Ronnie. Cam is quite capable of proof reading but he now has to do in the evening what he used to have all day and evening to do. I don’t think he even attempts to proof read. He just types them out at 100 miles an hour and if he is faster than usual I am lucky to see him in bed with me by Midnight. If he proof read I fear he would be in bed by 3am instead :)

I’m not perfect when it comes to spelling, but “Wind and Run”? My six year old would spot that.

    • Thanks for offering to do the unpaid job of grammar police and spellchecker.

      • Ronnie Chow

Willingly , although I thought Travis or Petal might have had access to an edit function . Anyway , with all that haste , there are only a few typo’s a week . Hopefully none when you’re hammering the Herald for typos .

You miss the point WO, according to our world leading teachers, “the spelling isn’t important as long as the message is conveyed”.
