Him and Devlin are both cunts. What is it with sports broadcasters?

    • Gazzaw

You mean like Andrew Saville, Tony Johnson, Murray Deaker, Peter Montgomerie, Brendan Telfer, Tony Yelden et al?

      • Travis Poulson

Tony Yelden? surely you mean Nigel Yalden?

        • Gazzaw

We all make little slips Trav.

          • Travis Poulson

I just asking for clarification in case we were talking about 2 different people. I thought his commentary during the London Olympics was outstanding, painted as good a mental picture with his words as it would have been watching on the telly.

      • Morrissey

“Murray Deaker—good bastard.” Now I’ve heard it all.

        • Travis Poulson

Seems with you there’s a real grudge to be held and no second chances for people despite the fact they turn their lives around, which brings me to my next comment: we let you back with a second chance didn’t we?

          • blazer

I agree people deserve another chance…WO obviously does not.

          • I think it says Google in the headline.

          • blazer

indeed it does …btw when did they acquire WOBH…hope Slater made some!

          • I hope you’re going to direct your obvious intellect at something more constructive than the one line drive-by trolly off-topic snipes you’ve been contributing of late. Kinda miss the old blazer that would tear people a new one with more constructive snideness.

          • Morrissey

Maybe Whaleoil would give Veitch another chance if Veitch actually apologized for his brutal actions, instead of making bizarre statements that “it wasn’t me.”

        • Gazzaw

You obviously know Deaks Morrissey to make such a comment. You obviously haven’t had the privilege. Amongst other strengths he also gives people a second chance.

          • Morrissey

I’m sure “Deaks” is a nice guy to his family, and to people like Tony Veitch. My objections to him are based on what he has said and written over the last generation.

      • Moaning Greasy Flyblow

        Murray Deaker – good bastard?

      • Orange

You can remove the “good” for Murray Deaker. When Nick Willis won the 2006 gold medal all Murray could do was complain about him running around the track with the flag. “Why can’t he just shake hands?” he whined. Contemptible. Such a tall poppy mindset that he couldn’t bear the thought of someone openly praying thanks for a challenge they had been fighting towards for a decade. Murray Deaker, you disgust me.

      • Bunswalla

Or even Nigel Yalden – IMO the best sports broadcaster, commentator and interviewer on radio.

  • Wikipedia says, “Known for: Broadcasting, Domestic Violence.”

Just rewatching his statement reminded me of what a prick he is.

    • Morrissey

From Wikipedia: “Veitch has attempted suicide at least three times since the assault allegations were made public, including on 18 April 2009 shortly after sentencing.”

I wonder if Veitch himself wrote that. I’m sure nobody else actually believes it.

  • Tristanb

Why should we forgive this guy? He’s an arrogant cock, and smashed the shit out of his wife. He has done nothing redeeming, and it is only out of selfishness for his own career that he does not do it again.

    He’s a fucking psychopath.

  • Patrick

Cry baby whining biartch, deserves the kicking he gave the missus & should have got that serving a sentence in Mt Eden.
