Helicopter Crash Caught On Camera While filming Top Gear Korea

This was an accident that was caught on camera during filming for Top Gear Korea. Thankfully no one was seriously injured.

The original challenge pitted presenter Kim Jin Pyo in a Corvette ZR1 against an AH1 Cobra helicopter in true Top Gear style.

Looked to me like either a control link failed, or hydraulics failed during completion of that right hand funnel.

Funnel turns like he was pulling put alot of stress on the airframe and links.

It just stopped turn rotation, and locked into that ground orientation, dooming it quickly after to unscheduled contact with the dirt.

Had he that link or hyraulic failure in any place other than he did, he might have been higher and faster when it decided to go its own way.

He woulda died.

As much at home writing editorials as being the subject of them, Cam has won awards, including the Canon Media Award for his work on the Len Brown/Bevan Chuang story.  And when he’s not creating the news, he tends to be in it, with protagonists using the courts, media and social media to deliver financial as well as death threats.

They say that news is something that someone, somewhere, wants kept quiet.   Cam Slater doesn’t do quiet, and as a result he is a polarising, controversial but highly effective journalist that takes no prisoners.

He is fearless in his pursuit of a story.

Love him or loathe him.  But you can’t ignore him.
