Hundreds. Hundreds of people.

I can’t figure out if the Herald is being sarcy or serious.

Society is collapsing, for sure.

I’m surprised it didn’t have a “BREAKING” on it.

Perhaps the NZ Herald didn’t get the memo?  W’e’ve moved on from school closures today.  We’re now talking about how the Auditor-General’s report into the Sky City deal is the end of John Key’s career.

Try to keep up, will ya?

  • Governor General’s report? Making like the “decent journalists, trained and skilled”?

    • My bad. I re-typed it from a garbled skype convo. Fixed.

      • You’re still wrong; should be Auditor-General, not Attorney-General, who is Christopher Finlayson

        • Thanks. That’s what happens when the organ grinder wanders off and leaves the monkey in charge. I’ll get back to posting pictures ** blush **

          • Mr Sackunkrak

Hey, at least you don’t raise it to an art-form like the Horrid!

  • Orange

Guy on the radio said maybe TWO hundred :O

  • Mr Sackunkrak

Does anyone else really care about a bunch of unionised teachers from Christchurch anymore? I’m kinda over it all.

    • StupidDiscus

      Hell no.

It is a big mistake the government’s made: it should just have closed all the schools — then invited the BoTs to open any they wanted as charters — fee paying, no unions…

And the same to any school that doesn’t want to do National Standards: either go charter, where they don’t apply, or shut the fuck up.

      • Mr Sackunkrak

Too bloody right, what a squandered opportunity.

      • Teachersrock

Rather heartless aren’t you. Those kids have been through hell and you want to compound the strife and pain in their young lives.

You have a very apt screen name because what you suggest is very stupid.

        • Time For Accountability

And you want to keep these children in broken schools with teachers who are in a negative headspace rather than allow them to grow in a environment that is not so broken surrounded by positive people.

It is a no brainier for any intelligent parent.

How does keeping them in such a broken environment help them?

        • surely you jest

  • Agent BallSack

hundreds of thousands of New Zealanders smoke cannabis every day and are criminalized for it, get some perspective Horrid

  • peterwn

The figure seems to be going up all the time.Stuff puts it at >1000. Goodness knows what it will be tomorrow. Rather like Victor Borge’s ‘inflationary language’ skit.

    • Agent BallSack

By tomorrow it will be woodstockian in terms of attendance, a hundred people making noise will always outshout the 10,000 who are in silent disapproval….example: Anything to do with the name Harawira

    • jonno1

  • johnbronkhorst

Radio said about 1000….teachers ,parents and “students”………So how many CHILDREN were forced or coerced by adults to attend?
