Pistorius doesn’t have a leg to stand on but Herald says he did it anyway

I thought being charged with a crime was just a little bit different to having done it?

At least until the trial was completed.

It seems the Herald has forgotten that distinction … and Oscar has been convicted?

Then again, what would I know, I’m not a “decent journalist, trained and skilled“.

There is no doubt that he shot and killed her. His claim is that he thought it was an intruder

    • Callum

Interesting to see the story has been edited to remove any references to who did the shooting, I wonder why.

  • John1234

There’s no question that Pistorius shot her. Nobody, including his family nor himself disputes that.

They are, however, sticking to their cockamamie story about it being her being mistaken for a burglar.

Police have let slip comments that she was also smacked over the head with a cricket bat.

    • Mr Sackunkrak

Yes, but it is always advisable to use the word “allegedly” until a court reaches a verdict.

    • If that is true (as it still alleged at the moment) in regards to Ms Steenkamp getting smacked over by the bat prior to being shot – then this is getting more sick by the minute…

What kind of sick puppy could we allegedly be dealing with here

      • John1234

Perhaps it was allegedly ‘roid rage? Allegedly that is.

  • tarkwin

Hard to believe the Horrid would jump to a conclusion like that.

    • you forgot to close with /sarcasm

  • As John 1234 says, there is no dispute that Pistorius shot Ms Steenkamp. It’s odd though that they were playing cricket beforehand…

Ban Cricket, it caused him to kill the girlfriend.

Same argument as blaming video games for killing

  • Never in the dark…..

He’s going to jail. Simple. There’s a call that he be denied bail too.

What is wrong with the following statement though?
“The suspicion is that the first shot, in the bedroom, hit her in the hip. She then ran and hid herself in the toilet …
He fired three more shots,” a police source told City Press.”

Hmmm, one of the few posts that seems to be crying wolf; best to save the attacks against HOS for one of their big stuff ups (& it is not like you will be waiting long!).

Ok so the Herald should have stated Pistorius allegedly killed Steenkamp, but they are not alone in their statements as like others have said, there has been no dispute he did it since he has already come out with an argument of self-defence.

What really annoys me is the glorification of his path from having his legs removed at 11 months then later losing his mother, to becoming an Olympian. Aside from the fact that he should never have been allowed into the Olympics (Paralympics of course, but able bodied no way), his past is irrelevant. He is just another guy who has put a girl into a situation of domestic violence where she has ended up paying the ultimate price.

And crying after the fact is the ultimate insult……just the same as all the whanau who have the audacity to put toys & balloons on the graves of yet another of their murdered babies.

  • Seen on Twitter earlier today: “I wonder what his height is listed at on his passport”.

  • John Q Public

Why use a cricket bat when you’ve got artificial legs, as it were, right to hand?

  • Mr_V4

Oscar will be ruing the fact he doesn’t have a paper round.
