The Luxury of having heterosexual children

I observe with wry amusement those that are against gays in every way.  They’re an evil, they’re a sin, they’re all wrong.

All that changes when one of your children tells you they’re gay.

I do know there are people with the power of conviction strong enough to choose God over their children.

I really don’t see how it is possible for God to give the example of unconditional love, and then parents choosing to excommunicate their own children for being gay.

No matter what, my children get loved and accepted.

  • i think that man just wanted to get 100 likes from the gay community.

goes in the “attention seeker” basket.

  • BJ

His hands don’t look like they do manual work and a ‘machine fixer’ wouldn’t hold a sign like that. I think he is the gay son

    • He could be a telecoms engineer, or computer related. Machines aren’t just things with petrol and oil you know.

      • BJ

You’re right petal. But a telecoms engineer or computer engineer wouldn’t be wearing blue dungarees either

        • Alice Nikenbocker

I wasn’t aware that blue dungarees was a uniform.

        • grumpy

    • Morrissey

      And then there’s that moustache.

  • grumpy

Look on the bright side. Only a less than 2% chance of being gay.

  • cows4me

“They’re are evil, they’re a sin, they’re all wrong” Oh what tosh. Ninety percent of posters posting on this blog couldn’t care less if someone is gay or not. We are simply against gay marriage. So the bigotry angle hasn’t work so now we trying to play the victim card, it won’t work either.

    • Gayguy

But there has been no reason put forward to deny marriage equality other than, gays shouldn’t be allowed to marry because they are gay, or the flawed “marriage has never changed” argument, which is out right inaccurate.

So yes, bigotry, hate, feeling icky in the tum tum, call it what you will but it is the only reason why people oppose marriage equality.

  • Pissedoffyouth

I’m all for people being gay, if they are married then that makes the 51% of women out there become a even higher percentage for us straights!

    • Gazzaw

      Except for the lesbians PoY.

    • Hazards001

hahahaha it’s good to see the same BS I used to spout nearly 30 yrs ago still being spouted.

Nice avatar change too…if it’s actually you I doubt you’ll have much trouble finding a nice sexy lady….if it’s not give yourself an upper cut for passing yourself off as someone else.

      • Travis Poulson

Haven’t seen the American Pie movies have you :)

        • Hazards001

Nope…should I?…and before you answer consider this..I’m a very reluctant watcher of any kind of TV and American comedy in particular…there was a time when I used to love it but that time has long passed…so….should I watch American Pie movies or best I give it a miss?
Of course I can extrapolate that the avatar POY is using is not himself from your comment, cheers for that.

          • Travis Poulson

No don’t bother watching, but yes you understood me correctly.

      • Pissedoffyouth

Avatar is Stiffler from American Pie (good job Travis), he has a hot mum that his friends want to bang but he ends up sleeping with all the girls.

I’m pretty much like that, except I found a pretty mint chick so I’ll see how it goes.

        • Hazards001

lol good for you…mint chicks are worth putting some effort in to….errrr into…ummm…ohhhh FFS you know what I mean :-D

And no matter where your avatar is from its not as creepy as the last one…and no..I didn’t get that either…I do live a sheltered life…(Sheltered from the social engineering on our screens mostly)

    • dotcom

Nice thinking POY, but it ain’t necessarily so. In NZ, there are more female/female civil unions than male/male. Presumably female/female “marriages” would follow a similar ratio to male/male “marriages” (should they unfortunately eventuate).

      • Pissedoffyouth

        This comes to mind:

        • dotcom

So you’re rich, POY? Problem solved. Bravo, young man!
[and yes I LOLed at the cartoon.]

          • Pissedoffyouth

            I wish, maybe one day.

      • Gayguy

        Not should – when.

The UK this morning has taken yet another step in the right direction, and we will not be far behind.

  • Jeremy

What’s this ” god and unconditional love stuff”? God and love cannot belong in the same sentences. The Bible, god’s word, is a litany of misogyny and anti gay sentiment. The same sex marriage opponents, usually christian, have no sense of compassion and appreciation for our fellow beings on this world.

    • dotcom

      “usually christian”

Not all Christian, I can assure you.

And besides us few atheists, there’s the odd few billion Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, Jews, Maoists, Shitoists, and others who are non-christians who aren’t all that keen on gays. So .. .. all up you’re only out by about 6 billion give or take a dozen or so.

    • Hazards001

Balls..the same sex marriage circus is driven by left wing agitators attempting to put a shine on the turd of their unmitigated bullshit.

If it wasn’t this it would be the mistreatment of carnivorous snails or holes in the ozone layer or the rights of albino rabbits or some such other fuckwit crap.

This whole mass debate is nothing more than the troughers attempting to insert snout back in the proverbial by smoke screening and diversion of the real issues facing the word as a whole and NZ as a country!

The leading and most pressing issue of the day isn’t same sex marriage it is of course the fact that we have let society get to such a fucked up point that PC wankers everywhere now have total control over the way our society should function.

Still…I suppose PC wankers are happy with that…at least for as long as the PC drum is calling cadence to their tune!

    • unsol

“anti gay sentiment” – only in the old testament. The new testament it is only mentioned by Paul in reference to the Corinthians for how the male slaves were being raped by their heterosexual masters… not about same sex attraction per se.

“The same sex marriage opponents, usually christian, have no sense of compassion and appreciation for our fellow beings on this world”

So very true. So much so that they even try to justify their hate by calling it love (just the same as you lovingly correct a child etc) and declare they only hate the sin not the sinner….refusing to understand or acknowledge that for the LGBT the sin & the sinner are synonymous, that it cannot be changed, corrected, beaten or prayed away any more than a heterosexual’s identity.

  • Mr Sackunkrak

Sorry this is fake. If that bloke really had a gay son he would have taken his advice about that ‘tache.

  • dotcom

No matter what, my children get loved and accepted.

That’s great, same with me. My children too get unconditionally loved and accepted. And my grandchildren.
Thank god though, it’s not compulsory for me to have to love OTHER peoples’ gay kids.
    Not compulsory yet is it?

    • Gayguy

      Interesting choice of words there.

  • Blair Mulholland

I hope there is a hell just so all the self-righteous pricks who bang on about how much they love teh gays can go there.

    • Morrissey

I don’t think it’s a case of loving the gays, so much as it is not being threatened by them. You seem a little uneasy about them. Why is that?

  • J.M

To be fair, I am against gay marriage but what consenting adults do in the privacy of their homes is their business. When it comes to my children, I would be surprised if any of them turned out to be gay, as there are no gays in my extended family. That said, if one were to be gay, I would not disown him or her, but I would live the rest of my days in shame that I created such a child.

    • That you created such a child?

Would you live in the same shame if you created one with spina bifida? Or a child with Down’s Syndrome?

      • J.M

Not shame, but certainly regret, followed with compassion and love for the child concerned.

    • Gayguy

In shame that you created such a child???

Bloody hell I would hope you would keep such a disgusting view to yourself and not let your kid know.
