  • And 35,000 punters have pre-registered to buy MRP power shares. In six hours, that’s 10% of the number of signatures that it has taken Labour, the Greens and their union mates to collect. I can’t wait for the next round of polls!

    • Pissedoffyouth

I’m surprised the left got that many, most of their constituency can’t write their own name

      • Gazzaw

I would hazard a guess POY that a good proportion of those signatures aren’t their own names. I signed up Julius Caesar at least three rimes & Donald Trump was good for a couple.

        • Honcho

Rumour has it the late Rod Donald feels so strongly about stopping asset sales he has signed the petition over a dozen times now!

          • Mr Sackunkrak

No, that was “Ronald”‘ or me :)

          • parorchestia

Queen Victoria was also so opposed she signed numerous times.

  • JeffDaRef

So now will the Dom Post make it front page news tomorrow that “70% of Kiwis are backing asset sales”???
Its about as scientific as most of what they’ve based previous stories on…..

  • johnbronkhorst

SO……..one word from the union and everyone does the exact opposite….Now that’s leadership for you….NOT..

  • johnbronkhorst

So, for dear old david to be correct (80% opposed to asset sales)..The next 17663 people to vote, will all have to check the box .. “It’s bad- I oppose state asset sales”. Just to do the maths for him, a subject he is so obviously lacking in.

  • rightoverlabour

Love it, and if the people have brain spasm and vote the commie lunatics in, how exactly are they going to steal back the shares that 70% of the country are purchasing? Winston should stick his head up his backside and look for some inspiration rather than sprout crap….

    • Gazzaw

A good number of those registered will be from Winnie’s core supporters pissed off with getting 4% from the BNZ on their term deposits. I am sure that Peters will be having a big rethink.

  • cows4me

Just imagine if the figure had been reversed, the unions would be unbearable. The press would be in melt down mode such would be their lefty glee. It must dawn on the unions thats the vast proportion of the people that really matter in this country don’t swallow their lefty crap. It must be starting to feel like winter in union la la land.

  • Sir Cullen’s Sidekick

Here is the deal folks. After 2014 elections, Labour-Green block will score more than Naked Emperor and his cronies. Hone will declare support to Sheep Shearer. Winnie the Poo and his seven MPs will start negotiations with Sheep. Winnie will demand that all assets sold should be bought back. Sheep will agree to use the Super fund to buy the assets back. They all will live happily ever after. Game over for the nasty fellows who are gloating around here….Sheep is bit upset about the interest shown by Kiwis in the MRP float….He thinks Emperor is doing a snake oil salesman job here….

    • parorchestia

Unfortunately, you could be right. But one term of idiot policies like this would see Labour and the Greens sent to the political wideness for generations. So it may be worth the pain for three years.

  • Mr Sackunkrak

Cash poor Labourites and Greenies hate this, but I don’t care. I’m looking forward to the capital gain and the dividends. Fuck the losers with a loudhailer and only a bus fare to rub together.

    • Sir Cullen’s Sidekick

Nasty Mr Sackunkrak, remember they will be in power in 2014…..they may declare all shares held by private investors to be null and void…Norman has that idea….
