Father Begone Priest Repellant Spray “One spray and your son will smell like an adult women for up to 8 hours..” Lol.

  • It’s just bait a Catholic today, huh?

    Sorry, not in the mood.

    • Orange

You have to go to a different blog if you want to bait the SDAs.

    • Jimmie

Yeah well hopefully your local priest isn’t ‘in the mood’ either…..

Here is a competing product: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EpuYoK6wv_Y

  • Gazzaw

As a non-believer I generally avoid the anti-Catholic posts but I got sucked in by the headline. It’s the one subject that annoys me on this site – there’s never a day passes without a post (or two or three or four) that generally denigrate the Catholic faith. Yes, the paedophilia indulged in by a minority of priests disgusts me and yes the efforts to conceal it are unforgiveable but it seems to me that the number of posts devoted to the subject way outnumber the significance. Many of the posts too do nothing constructive and just take the piss out of wellmeaning and I’m sure good people such as Lucia Maria. The above is classical adolescent humour I’m sure drawn out of a lowlife Brit tabloid of some sort.

Sure go ahead and expose the outrages that have taken place and the hypocrisy that has covered it up but keep the material relevant and have some thought for the 9% of your fellow Kiwis who are Catholics and to whom their faith has deep meaning.

    • Orange

      thoughtful post Gaz

    • If you subscribe to silly nonsense then expect to get shit for it….simple really.

      • Gazzaw

To you it’s silly nonsense James, to 9% of our countrymen it isn’t so it’s a tad arrogant on your part to make a judgement.

What beliefs do you subscribe to – they don’t have to be religious or spiritual. Just post them here and we’ll see how they stack up on credibility. By the look of your avatar you could be into stupid looking dogs but then that’s a judgement call on something that you value so we won’t go there.

    • Lion_ess

Cam could do some more posts on leprechauns, taniwahas & unicorns to balance things up a bit. And, not to forget Mohammed and the flying horse, either.

      • Gazzaw

That he could Lion_ess. We could even add atheists, agnostics and the Rationalist Society to the mix.

        • Lion_ess

So he could and that would be even more interesting.

          • Gazzaw

To be sure. I would hate my belief in being a non-believer to come under scrutiny by those whose beliefs did not agree with my beliefs.

          • Lion_ess

I wouldn’t, I’d welcome it. I would not be offended by the discussion, I would not feel I needed to have my “feelings” protected because others mightn’t agree with me. It’s great to have you beliefs challenged, in my view.

      • Sure

      • Travis Poulson

Please no, not the Taniwha’s. Unless of course they get the way of Len’s train set, then I might reconsider my stance.

        • Gazzaw

          Very droll Trav!

        • Lion_ess

Be assured, the Auckland Council Maori Statutory Board won’t see an opportunity like this proceed without a pay day.

          • Gazzaw

I’m calling it quits guys. Tomorrow’s another day. Good debate, good comments.

    • If it has deep meaning then they should stand up and shout from the roof tops and demand that their church does something other than sweep things under the carpet or promote or transfer priest…oh and they can stop denying that there is a problem.

      • Gazzaw

Absolutely Cameron but one intelligent comment a day would drive that message home a lot more effectively than some of the dross we see here. I have absolutely no religious axe to grind and I totally agree with your sentiments but it seems to me that there is an unnecessary degree of just ‘taking the piss’ for the sake of it.

        • Lion_ess

How can you take “the piss” out of something that is (apparently) irrefutable, according to those who make these claims?

          • Gazzaw

            We’re splitting hairs now.

    • Mr Sackunkrak

Gazz, I understand your view, but I was one who endured the “bells & smells” courtesy of the Christian Brothers in a private school. That experience made me the atheist I am now. The violence those “men of God” meted out to boys, the inappropriate attention I got from one in particular, I’m please Cam is shining a light on this.

      • Gazzaw

So am I, I’m absolutely delighted but the effectiveness of his campaign is being diluted by some substandard and excessive posts. The above for example.

      • Lion_ess

It’s clear the church is in trouble and about time. Personally, I struggle to understand why so-called celibate blokes are the spiritual guide to a billion followers. I find it interesting that the largest conversion to catholicism in recent times is in uneducated, african countries and I also am happy to see some light shone locally on these predators.

Thanks for sharing, and out of interest, how long did you hold on to it (if you don’t mind)?

        • Mr Sackunkrak

Until just very recently, it’s not something I’ve thought not about much since, and not until I see posts like this, and the defenders popping up. At least the Christians don’t stone the boys the priests rape. Unlike the other brand. I have no time for religions of any kind, they are simply fairy tales to fill vacant minds. It’s a shame they cause so much collateral damage.

          • Lion_ess

Agreed. Why people defend this nonsense is beyond belief.

  • Jman

Nah the catholic church deserves everything it gets. Considering all the atrocities they have committed through the ages, they really don’t have any moral basis to exist. The same goes for the muslims.

    • Gazzaw

That’s a big call to make on 300,000 Kiwis Jman. So they have no moral basis to exist because of their religious beliefs? Where do you propose building the gas chambers?

      • By them maintaining their silence they condone the abuse.

        • Gazzaw

Maybe Cameron but Jman believes that they have no moral right to exist because of their religion. That’s the sort of divisive crap this country does not need.

          • Lion_ess

You didn’t read his post correctly, he talks about the Church, not the people who follow the “faith”.

          • Gazzaw

I disagree. He stated ‘they’ not ‘it’ or ‘the Church’ just as he referred to ‘the muslims’ and not ‘Islam’.

          • Lion_ess

No, he says, “the catholic church deserves everything it gets”.

      • Jman

Don’t be an idiot. I don’t mean the 1 billion people who happen to be Catholic don’t deserve to exist, I mean the Catholic church. In fact if you read my post it’s extremely obvious thats what …ffs I shake my head at the stupidity of the commenters on here sometimes. I thought you were one of the more intelligent ones Gazzaw

        • Lion_ess

          Usually is.

  • Mark

That has to be from Viz comic

  • J.M

Yawn. Multiple posts a day from a protestant bashing the Catholics. Ian Paisley would be very proud of you.
