As the joke goes, if you can remember it, you weren’t there.

Modern day Woodstock is most definitely the Burning Man festival in the Nevada Desert each year. Check out the photos, the art, the people, the music… It’s a week long event 24/7 and its simply got to be on your bucket list if you enjoy a bit of adventure and are open to new experiences.

50,000 for 1 week in the middle of the Desert partying 24/7 where it’s 40+ degree during the day and even minus degrees by night… The contrasts everywhere are AWE inspiring.

Even the Kiwi version is worth a try…

    • I didn’t expect that from you BIT :)

I also recommend the Malcolm in the Middle Burning Man episode. (Season 7, ep 1)

Don’t watch telly that much and certainly not that programme… But why the surprise out of curiosity?

Online persona is only a fraction of the whole ( or hole in some cases) and only what i elect to present at any given time.

Just like Vodka is so much more than a breakfast food… I’m so much more than an International man of mystery…

That is all…. Have a great day!

        • LOL. Oh, just between you and me, I’ve been known to hug a tree. But this isn’t the forum to admit it. I don’t think the Boss could cope with the idea of having hippies among the Army ;)

Doesn’t the song say (about Woodstock), …went down to Yasgers farm,….. where they were half a million strong”?..500 000

      • blokeintakapuna

        Huge eh… Don’t know about the song though… Sorry…

wish I was there….but I suppose, only being 9 at the time, I had to content myself with watching the moon landing not long before and collecting the newspaper clippings.

OOPS got the lyrics mixed up.

I came upon a child of God
He was walking along the road
And I asked him, “Where are you going?”
      And this he told me…

I’m going on down to Yasgur’s Farm,
I’m gonna join in a rock and roll band.
I’m gonna camp out on the land.
I’m gonna get my soul free.

      We are stardust.
      We are golden.
And we’ve got to get ourselves back to the garden.

Then can I walk beside you?
I have come here to lose the smog,
And I feel to be a cog in something turning.

Well maybe it is just the time of year,
Or maybe it’s the time of man.
      I don’t know who I am,
But you know life is for learning.

      We are stardust.
      We are golden.
And we’ve got to get ourselves back to the garden.

By the time we got to Woodstock,
We were half a million strong
And Everywhere there was song and celebration.

And I dreamed I saw the bombers
      Riding shotgun in the sky,
And they were turning into butterflies
      Above our nation.

      We are stardust.
      Billion year old carbon.
      We are golden..
      Caught in the devil’s bargain
And we’ve got to get ourselves back to the garden.
      Go Joni Mitchel
