The Greens and Labour will want this next

Len Brown already does want this, but the Greens and Labour probably intervene in the market to force people into Trailer homes. Efficient and green.

And the rest of us can mock trailer trash.

An elaborate 2012 report published by ROC USA and underwritten by HUD found that mobile homes use, on average, far less energy and water than conventional homes or condos (the mobile homes in the study were 940 square feet, larger than those at Pismo Dunes).

While models built before 1976, when federal regulations kicked in, sometimes have exorbitant utility bills, newer models made to Energy-Star efficiency standards can reduce the combined costs of electricity, gas, and water to well below $1,000 a year, even in the hottest and coldest parts of the country. And manufacturing the homes in factories cuts construction waste by 30 percent. The efficient layout of a mobile-home park helps conserve water and reduces storm runoff. And in some locations, residents are able to share vehicles, or get around without them, which saves money.

  • I will listen to the Labourites and Greens when they actually live in the little boxes they advocate. As long as they live in nice villas in leafy suburbs,… and send their kids to private schools, they are telling people to do one thing, but avoiding the same themselves.

Because they know their policies are not conducive to their kids doing well.

  • Sir Cullen’s Sidekick

Sheep and his cabinet ministers will be living in those boxes.

I heard Shearer is going to by a house in the USA with some of the money he has stashed away, prices are low and he has the cash.
His comment to the agent was I need a place within the next 10 years so I can come to when I have F*^*^& up my own country, power is not a problem, but must have a safe room with a toilet.

Shearer is in New York seeking further employment with UN, via Hellen.
That I why he keeps his money there.
He will resign about August/September and will not contest next election.
Robertson is seeing to it currently.

The Greens would want the road replaced with a railway line or goat track before they would allow Labour to announce this one.

  • Patrick

I see one there with an attick, Lying Len will only sign off on these if they are multi story.

I was in south Auckland a few months back, quite frankly your picture looks preferable.

    • NotForTurning

Yeah but imagine what this would look like if it was in South Auckland!

    • Eiselmann

Having grown up in South Auckland and lived there most of my life, in one of its more interesting neighbourhoods,(left/escaped 11 years ago) I agree the photo looks a lot better. Saying that ,move many of my old neighbours into that place and they’ll simply replicate what they left behind…the biggest problem with any new housing areas is the people that move into them.
In less than 3 years my old neighbourhood went from working class hard working families who knew each other to a street of 50 houses that could best be described as …..drug house, gang house, drug house, people who couldn’t afford to leave, gang house, hooker house, total nutjob’s home,… it doesn’t take long for lowlifes to destroy any neighbourhood.
