Aaron Gilmore? Never heard of him

A Stuff poll has two interesting results.

1.  There is essentially no sympathy for Aaron Gilmore.

2. 9% of the Stuff readers don’t know who he is.  Priceless.

Cam, time to show your own loyalty to the right… let it go.

    • High_Tory

Agreed justsayn; reminded of the following quotation: “…[spite] simply disgraces those who offer it…”

    • Sir Cullen’s Sidekick

Yes Cam, don’t put more boot into this fellow. Let it go. Use your excellent brain and blog skills to expose Sheep, Hippie and the Tuatara (she is starting to annoy the hell out of me now). Let us not forget who the real enemies of the state are.

      • 4077th

        “Tuatara” Gold!

    • 4077th

Yes, that little round brown thing from the gweens has had far too much oxygen today. She needs a swift kick up that fat arse of hers.

    • unsol

He is loyal to the right – not question, but whether he is loyal to this current version of right….well, let’s see how (if) he answers any of the questions above…

    • J.M

Agreed, he’s gone now. Time to let it go.

  • Travis Poulson

I suspect the percentage of “Don’t know who Aaron Gilmore is” would have been much higher before all of this happened.

  • fdfdfdsfdf

Leave him alone, Whale. It’s (hopefully) done.

  • Carlos the Jackal

It’s like a Calvin Klein commercial.
    Obsession…

    • Chad Chambers

Cameron is drunk with the celebrity that has rubbed off on him during this affair.

    • Chad Chambers

He seems to be drunk with the celebrity that has rubbed off on him during this affair with Aaron.

  • Sir Cullen’s Sidekick

He is no match for you oh mighty Whale. Forgive him and kick the lefties now please.

    • Dave

No need to kick the lefties SCS, besides, they cant kick back, they constantly have their foot stuck in their big mouths!!

  • unsol

Aah still going at it eh Cameron

Suppose you may as well make the most of it – it’s tomorrow’s fish & chip paper after all.

But since we’re here, when are you going to let us in on why you were so determined to become part of the pack of hyenas that created this circus over these past couple of weeks?

1)Is it true that this whole vendetta started because Lusk got pissy over Gilmore failing to pay a fine?
2)Did Riches act alone or is he in cahoots with Lusk?
3)Are you in cahoots with Lusk in the hope that you can influence the new breed of Nat MPs coming through?
4)Is getting Claudette on board part of the grand plan to destroy the Nats from the inside so you, Lusk & Riches can become the new Key, Joyce & Collins (haha – now there’s a grand plan!)….it’s not like anyone believes she is part of the Nats because she believes that centre right is a good balance in terms of NZ going forward.
    5) Are the Nats also as divided as the left – after all, why would they have someone like Simon Lusk whom Key rates as nothing (or minus 1 out of 10) still on their payroll?
    6) Are all your blogs against Mr B & other Nat MPs your way of exacerbating this division so you can get your foot in the door?
    7) Or is this just all down to you wanting to propel your blog to another level?

Hmmm somehow I doubt it. Travis & Pete seem convinced you’re just after ratings, but I don’t know. You’re a clever boy, you have to want to be more than just a blogger – sure you’re a top blogger, but blogging doesn’t change policy does it?

I know you have said you have no empathy – which in part explains your attack on Gilmore, & you clearly love to mix a bit of politics with trash, but given your family background I would be surprised if you didn’t have any political aspirations whatsoever & that this dogmatic & relentless attack against someone over such a minor offence wasn’t part of your plan to propel yourself into some role of notoriety within the National Party.

So why not fess up – you never know, you may have more support than you realise.

Provided of course you quit with the trashy bullshit, name calling & frequent use of the word cunt.

Oh and you may have to retract your support for Marriage Equality (which of course has never been consistent with your derogatory comments against the LGBT community – especially gay men).

    • 4077th

Holy shit Unsol, where the hell did that come from? Has it been 5pm at your place for a while now?

      • unsol

What do you mean? Gilmore’s speech was on stuff ages ago….now that the saga is over I am keen to know why it became one in the first place.

        • BJ

          He means fiveses

          • unsol

Fiveses? You know I am no good with non words!

I took it as meaning happy hour/implying I was on the piss) so played tongue in cheek instead (the ….were meant to infer that!)

Anyhoo who cares. They are valid questions :-)

        • Carlos the Jackal

Interesting. If Lusk was involved then it would explain why Gilmore didn’t go all ‘Utu’. He’s been given a back-room deal to leave quietly. Key mention that Lusk had nothing to do with Gilmore’s resignation. Is Key bullshitting (again)?

          • unsol

Hmmm I think so. Money always talks & Gilmore has a big mouth so it must have been a sweet deal.

I like Key & I think that if that went down he would know that it is best to encourage/accept the pretence of humility & contrition as opposed to confessing to the truth re what really drives politics…the people love the pretence of warm fuzzies & most are keen to accept it at face value.

        • Dave

Been a fan of / reader of your posts for a while Unsol, but I’m not sure where you are coming from , the host can write what he wants, and knowing a little about Cam (and it is a little) he normally has a basis for what he writes, so I think there is a lot more to come on lil Aaron IF he is stupid enough to open the door to it again. Cam is not one to simply lay everything out there unless there is a reason / just cause.

Lets not forget, Aaron could have been honest and fixed this early, but he repeatedly covered up and implicated others, time and again, he has done the right thing now, i only hope he does so quietly.

          • unsol

Not sure where I am coming from? Surely that was made blatantly clear by asking Cameron to satisfy my curiosity & declare his intentions – if he has any?

          • So can you summarise for the rest of the class what his intentions are now?

    • 1)Is it true that this whole vendetta started because Lusk got pissy over Gilmore failing to pay a fee?

      No

2)Did Riches act alone or is he in cahoots with Lusk?

      Alone

3)Are you in cahoots with Lusk in the hope that you can influence the new breed of Nat MPs coming through?

      No

4)Is getting Claudette on board part of the grand plan to destroy the Nats from the inside so you, Lusk & Riches can become the new Key, Joyce & Collins (haha – now there’s a grand plan!)….it’s not like anyone believes she is part of the Nats because she believes that centre right is a good balance in terms of NZ going forward.

      No

      5) Are the Nats also as divided as the left – after all, why would they have someone like Simon Lusk whom Key rates as nothing (or minus 1 out of 10) still on their payroll?

      No

      6) Are all your blogs against Mr B & other Nat MPs your way of exacerbating this division so you can get your foot in the door?

      No

      7) Or is this just all down to you wanting to propel your blog to another level?

That’s part of it. What’s the point of a blog that nobody reads? Larger audience share equals larger influence

Travis & Pete seem convinced you’re just after ratings, but I don’t know.

It’s my job to grow the blog. Ratings is but a measurement. But in the end, you need more eyeballs, so it appears to be an and in itself. Step back. Why would Cam want more eyeballs?

You’re a clever boy, you have to want to be more than just a blogger – sure you’re a top blogger, but blogging doesn’t change policy does it?

Yes, communications have an effect on people, be it via blogging or any other method. Like it or not, but this blog changes the way you think about certain things. You don’t realise a lot of it because in most cases you’re quite happy to go along with the suggested ideas and you don’t even realise it.

      • unsol

Last time I checked Petal was not WO – unless you have morphed into the same person?

Your answers – no matter how well intentioned, will not suffice.

In fact I am not sure Cameron’s will either…unless he puts all his cards on the table.

        • I am his right hand woman hehehe.

Those are my answers, not his, from me, not on his behalf – just to be clear.

As for Cameron laying all cards on the table…

You know what they say? The lie is different at every level.

          • unsol

Right hand woman – surely you’re not saying, as a man that you are WO’s bitch?! :-)

          • Why not. I am very secure as to who I am and where I fit in, but if people want to think of me as his bitch, that’s fine by me. I only answer to Cam around here, so yeah, I’m his bitch :)

          • unsol

Haha nice response Pete – you’re a good influence on this blog :-)

        • Petals answers are accurate, but I have now provided more fulsome answers.

It is deadline day after all.

    • Jester

You’re not Penny Bright in drag are you Unsol. Last time I checked Cam Slater has never offered to explain himself to anyone. You seem, as Penny does on many occasions to miss the point that your demands for answers mean fuck all in the context of all things important.

      • unsol

Aah Jester too busy being funny & missing the point as always.

Drag would mean I have to be male.

Demand for answers meaning fuck all – that would be true if no one had provided any answers.

        • Jester

Well Unsol that is the nature of blogs. You demand answers from the blog creator and you will either get answers or get told to fuck off.

I myself would have told you and your high horse to fuck off, but I don’t run the blog. Cam chose to answer, his blog, his decision.

Doesn’t distract from the fact that demanding answers as a visitor be they answered or not makes you appear a pretensions twat.

You don’t wander around asking ” do you know who I am” do you Unsol.

          • unsol

            Oooh nice retort jester.

But it’s not your blog is it…

And are you always so spineless with the inability to think for yourself, or is it just on this blog where you are clearly trying to kiss some arse?

And you have used the word pretentious incorrectly…

          • Jester

No Unsol it’s not my blog where I have the ability or right to demand anything. You appear to be so far up your own arse that you miss that fact.

If respecting someone else’s blog is spineless I stand accused. Rather that than being a fucking bent out of shape opinionated looney thats only claim to fame is writing a 600 word blog post that no reader ever got past paragraph one.

Yeah pretentious. I was originally thinking of using cunt , but realised that comparing you to something that is generally a silent, user friendly, bringer of joy was an unfair comparison on the cunt.

          • Easy now.

          • Jester

Fair enough Petal, I will remind myself in future not to take being called spineless literally.

            Silly old me.

          • Bunswalla

            And the word detract…

    • 1. No it started because Aaron was a despicable person to his mates in ways that cannot be blogged.
      2. Andrew is an honourable person, I don;t think Simon actually even spoke to Aaron over this matter, the thrust of this questioning suggests some wankers want that to be the case. In any case who cares who acted with who. Gilmore was despicable and he got run through.

      3. Cahoots is such a silly word…I’ll work with almost anyone except wife beaters and liars.
      4. Who would know about Claudette, I have always found her to be a straight up person. She has never worked with Simon…ever.
      5. The Nats aren’t dived, though when you are as broad a church as they are there are differences of opinion. There are a few old school types who don;t like Simon’s rough methods…they are squeamish and generally nancies…too bad…they don;t like me either, but they are old and I am young, so guess who will eventually.
      6. Mr B is a wife beater and a coward hiding behind name suppression. He does not deserve the position he holds. It is ironic that Aaron Gilmore was forced out for much less while Mr B sits in his cushy job untouched. In fact it is shameful.
      7. Everything I do is about propelling the blog to the stratosphere.

I have empathy, I don’t have sympathy…you find that int eh dictionary between shit and syphilis.

I have no political aspirations…I have been around politicians for far too long to want that shit of a life…plus I hate Wellington.

Politics is a dirty grubby business and it needs people who revel int eh dirty grubby business, especially when some one is needed to get gone.

I don’t make derogatory comments against anyone in the LGBT community. Nor about gay men.

      • High_Tory

Is point 6 about a National MP?

        • unsol

The correct reference is a National Party “senior political figure”…

          • High_Tory

an MP? senior? you mean cabinet? bloody hell im stunned to hear that

          • unsol

The cyber world really is fascinating. :-)

          • Hi. You are very welcome here. Nice to have you. But this blog is very, VERY touchy about name suppression not being broken by anyone but the blog owner himself. There were not one, but TWO warnings for this speculation to stop. And you had to push it further. That upsets me in an official capacity (as moderator). Just don’t. Thank you.

          • High_Tory

I havent. The warnings were written 4 mins after I posted but sorry if I put my foot in it, never heard of the matter hitherto and didn’t know about name supression.

          • The blog owner, Cameron Slater, is currently paying off substantial fines for breaching name suppression intentionally to make a point. But he is the only one that gets to do this around here. If someone accidentally or otherwise does so again, it isn’t that person that is in trouble, but Cameron Slater, as the blog owner. He will be back in court, and he will have to pay any fines. As a result, people like me are quite firm that speculation on the identity of people “enjoying” name suppression doesn’t happen on this blog. Nothing personal.

          • Travis Poulson

And best we put the anchors on there…

          • I would listen to Travis there folks. Mr B and related matters remain under an active suppression order. We do not want to see 20 questions being played here.

      • unsol

        Hmmm interesting.

I agree re Mr B – I feel the same. Ironic is being kind re him vs Gilmore. Morally corrupt & repugnant would be more apt.

Re empathy – I refer to your interview with Michelle Hewitson a few years ago where she said “He [you] has no empathy. Even before he became ill he “wasn’t known for it”. This doesn’t bother him, of course. To which you apparently replied “No. It is who I am.”

Of course she worked for the Herald. So I’m guessing it wasn’t entirely accurate.

Derogatory comments – not about anyone in particular, more about how you call people by names commonly used to insult LGBT, particularly gay men (cock sucker etc). It seems a little odd.

But D day has been & gone. This issue is over – time will tell whether anything more comes of it.

So my final question is when you are going to nail the left to the wall?

I can’t believe you sacrificed Goff’s massive stuff up in lieu of hounding Gilmore!

Can we believe you restart that fire with any success? You know MSM won’t be on your side…

        • I nail everyone to the wall, left and right. If someone on the right gets in my sight so be it.

          • unsol

So that is a resounding yes to resuming your efforts to bring Mr B back into the limelight, address English vs perks, Goff vs suppression, Shearer vs the missing millions & anything pertaining to the Greens?

            Good.

          • Enough with the Mr B references please. It is leading to speculation that damages people not involved. This is an official request to let that particular issue rest.

          • Lofty

Thanks unsol, for goodness sake Cam attack the true enemy.

    • RightOfGenghis

Happy hour start early Unsol? Why were’nt you slaving over a hot stove 2 hours ago when hubby got home? Anyhoo to answer you in a word, it’s not rocket science. It’s not machiavellian scheming. It’s nothing more than Pageviews!!!

      • unsol

        We’ll see.

        Slaving over a hot stove?

A good cook prepares early :-)

    • Agent BallSack

      :)

      • unsol

Clever – you reckon though? I’m thinking more of a Steven Joyce role..Collins would be PM

  • Now is the hour for us too say goodbye.
    Get over it Cam.
This coming week we bring you!!!!!!
Next Goff and everyone favourite the Green communist party.
Thursday will be fun, hearing all the losers saying bad things about the Budget.
    SHEARER SHOW US THE MONEY.
Will Shearer go before the next election?

    • Travis Poulson

I think it’s time to start hammering Goff, he shouldn’t be allowed to get away with his naughty little indiscretion.

      • unsol

Would have been better to focus on that when he broke the law.

        Too late now.

        • Travis Poulson

It’s never too late in politics unsol. Take Banks for example.

          • unsol

Very true. Not to mention Winston.

      • That’s for f*^*ing sure the piece of shit, been hiding the last week, here we come.

      • Perhaps you should buy truth on Thursday

    • unsol

I did – may as well add to other bloggers page views while the topic is still hot. :-)

  • Chad Chambers

Cameron seems drunk with the celebrity that has rubbed off on him during this affair.

  • Troy

After that speech, I still have not an iota of sympathy for him. Why? It’s simple, he knows what it is to be an MP, he knows that his life is up for public scrutiny, and he knows that the will of the people outweigh the will of the one. Given he knew all this before going back into parliament he dug his own grave because of his own behaviour – nobody else’s. This bullshit about forgiving is a copout and i don’t buy into it. He’s gone, good riddance and make an honest life for yourself Gilmore.
