Hurry up and get well

This may or may not be Pete

This may or may not be Pete

Just a wee update for readers. Pete has taken drastic action this morning in an attempt to win Blubbergeddon

He underwent surgery to remove his troublesome gall bladder…that is his excuse anyway…I think he just knew that hospital food and radical surgery would be the fastest way to shed the kilos. One thing is for sure…Pete will have a lot less bile now.

Anyway, his missus has emailed me to say that the surgery went well and Pete will be back on deck soon.

He should be awake and reading this now so leave some get well soon messages for him.

Looks like you’re going to need a chainsaw for that meat!!!!If you really want to get well FFS get some decent food down ya…not that ulser producing stuff you have there!!

    • blokeintakapuna

Yeah – but think of the nurses sponge bath!
Just hope he doesn’t get a male nurse…

  • rockape

I don tknow how you have the gall to cheat in this way, and at the taxpayers expense. Good luck AND GET WELL SOON.

  • Smart thinking here. Is that liver your eating?

  • Lion_ess

The lengths some people will go to, to win. Shame on you:) BTW, functioning bile ducts are a prerequisite for contributing to well-I’ll-be fucked. Get well soon Pete.

  • This may or may not be a get well soon for Pete.

Nah it is one. Get well soon Pete. And we draw the line at gall bladders, no ripping out spare kidneys, appendices or any other vestigial or unused organs….

  • GregM

Immediately add 10kg’s to the blubbergeddon chart for blatant cheating.
Best wishes Pete, hope you come right soon.:-)

  • Lofty

Oh come on Pete, eating is cheating pal. Me, I have gone onto a strict liquid only diet consisting of G&T’s with a food allowance of 1 x peanut butter sandwich a day.
    mmmm wholesome.

    Get well soon mate.

  • Thanks guys ‘n guysesses. Apart from some tenderness things are fine. Like a proper rightie I’ve got medical insurance so no tax payer burden. I look infinitely better than the chap in the photo and so far I’ve had a juice and two club sammies (since 10pm yesterday). In spite of the plumbing turning you to be non standard, op went fine. Will be back at desk tomorrow. (as per whale’s working conditions, such as they are ;) )

    • Bunswalla

Top skills. We have great healthcare in this country – better still if your insurance covers it – and glad to hear you’ve had a good outcome.

  • unsol

Crikey if this & the picture he posted the other day are real then you are working him too hard WO!

Wishing you a super speedy recovery Pete :-)

  • Steve (North Shore)

Can’t move the goalposts half way through the game, unless it is Americas Cup of course.
Why is that person in the next bed hiding from ‘may not be Pete’ ?

  • Bad__Cat

Best wishes, have a good break and come back when you are feeling better.

  • P1LL

Get well soon Pete , You have to keep the night postings going or I will not know what to do with myself .

    • I had pre-queued 3 days in advance. I know I have to keep you junkies supplied. So easy day today, and enough time to start queueing tomorrow’s lot.

  • LesleyNZ

Depends if it is private or public hospital. Think he will be out soon. They are pretty good these days with keyhole surgery. Get well Petal. Don’t think the photo is Pete. Think I am right

    • Yep, private hospital thanks to insurance. And I may feel as old as the man in the photo today, but I have a fair bit to go until I have white hair. I’m going to spend today and tomorrow feeling sorry for myself, as the general bruising and healing is kicking me about a bit, but on the WOBH side, I have to pass the time, so might as well keep you lot looked after.

      • LesleyNZ

That is good. Nice meals in private hospitals. You will feel much better soon. My mum had the same op and she is great now. We need looking after …………………….
