Shearer safe, Nats relieved, Roy Morgan says Labour in the lead

David Shearer can breathe easy, the latest Roy Morgan poll has the Green led Labour alliance safely in front of National now.

Everyone knows that Roy Morgan is the most accurate poll of them all and the other three polls out this week are clearly and demonstrably rogue polls.

By being based in Melbourne, Australia it allows Roy Morgan to fairly assess results without the annoyance of beltway echoes.

Privately the National party is relieved that they no longer have to work out a strategy for Grant Robertson and can keep on with their proven strategy against David Shearer.

Nats for Shearer has been busy shoring up support for David Shearer on the Stuff poll.

He won’t need that support now though, 1 accurate and respected poll obviously out-weighs 3 dodgy polls by vested media interests.

Whatever Gary Morgan is smoking in his pipe, I want some.

  • I knew it all along. David’s the best person for the job. He’s just misunderstood.

    • Justsayn

Yep, best of a bad bunch but that is hardly Shearer’s fault.

  • Col

Morgan is spot on here, who in there right mind would think that JK would be out front, after all the great things he and National have done.
    Go Shearer go, yea right.
ps David you may need that hidden money soon ?

    • Patrick

He may have shifted some of his US booty Roy Morgans way recently……

  • Justsayn

Thank goodness for that. When will they learn that National voters know enough not to give an honest answer when the pressure is on him and the pollsters call…

  • Positan

The issue for Labour is not who leads it – the unassailable problem for whomsoever gets the job is that its available “raw material” is so utterly bereft of utilisable talent.

    • Patrick

You can’t make honey out of horeshit

      • Apart from the bags of Horse Poo being sold at the side of the road I guess.

      • Dumrse

I think you need another analogy. I’m processing horse shit and at present it’s saving me money.

        • Patrick

silk purse from a sow’s ear? Bet you cannot get away with that in politically correct NZ. Old Bobby Kerridge would be all over you like a rash.

  • Harroputza

Funny seeing the Labour FB statuses touting this at the exclusion of all other evidence.

  • Dave

They are not known as a “rouge morgan” poll for nothing, don’t let the fact they are an Aussie based company fool you!! As my Stats lecturer used to say, what would you like the stats and trends to show.

    • rockape

Doesnt Head In Sand syndrome work realy well for National. The electorate made a mistake, we knew they would eventually see sennse and vote Labour. Yeh Right.

  • rockape

Well maybe nopw is the time to cut the greens free. Labours vote is shown to be going up so fast they will easily govern alone come polling day. Yeh Right!

  • Lion_ess

    Sheesh – that’s a relief. Ohhh looord, Kumbaya …..

I used to give John Key a lot of stick for his “Treat Them Like Mushrooms” attitude.

But he did listen, and he acted on every one of the criticisms and NZer’s are seeing the benefits.

David Shearer and co. on the other hand always new better, didn’t want to appear soft or foolish and disregarded everything everyone was saying.

As has been commented on a few times recently DSs’ constant “attacks” on John Key are lame at best, and really do lack substance.

My response to any poll at the moment putting Labour/Greens out front is “That’s surprising”.
Considering how arrogant and unapproachable Labour is I’m surprised they have any showing in the Polls. Strangely they are so blinkered into thinking the the Gnats are arrogant and unapproachable they can’t see it in themselves.

Where’s SCS this morning? He said he was going to ground, then didn’t. Now we expect him to be here trumpeting, but he’s nowhere to be found…

    • dumbshit

SCS is probably more shocked than anyone, and maybe a closet Nat

I feel sorry for those African terrorists, listening to him trying to construct a coherent sentence through a bullhorn. So cruel… Seeing as they’re ethnic minorities and he’s in Labour, shouldn’t he go back there and apologize to them for the historical injustices his monotonous drone inflicted upon their psychological health once he’s PM?
