Stuart Nash’s Not So Secret Hypocrisy

Stuart Nash has joined up with his enemies at a little read blog site and for his first post has a piece titled:

The problem is that just as Truth exposed with Nicky Hager and his secret trust structure paid for and set-up by his own legal expert and holding at least two properties;

Stuart Nash is not above his own “great (legal) lengths” to structure his own affairs.

As with Nicky Hager, and every left-leaning politician spitting out this nonsense on tax avoidance.  Why does Stuart Nash have a family trust?

– asset protection?

– reduce income?

– avoid being sued?

– matrimonial property?

All the same reasons businesspeople go offshore or to trust advisors as Nash did in New Zealand, to do exactly the same thing.

If Nash really wants a capital gains tax or higher taxes, voters should ask how desperate he has been in the past to pay his share and be transparent about his own dealings.

Rather than being all sanctimonious in the little read far-left corner of the blogosphere he should come clean and declare just exactly why he did what he now rails against.

I thought Nash might add some interesting commentary but his post ended up being little more than a parroting party political broadcast.

Sorry Nicky you have forgotten Thieves scream the loudest when found out.Surely not you as well Nicky.

At the heart of every socialist is a capitalist. They are all about everybody else’s money.

    • unsol

So true – multi millionaire capitalists are hardly the monopoly of the right wing (Hirschfeld, Williams, & even their supporters – Morgan et al etc) . But at least right wingers are honest about it!

Aaaah I have seen Nash comment on this stuff before & spit out the same crap. His trust is old news – in fact, he has mentioned it a fair bit on Red Alert & said that his family trust is to hold property vs one that earns income & is used for the purposes of tax avoidance.

i think they are great way to ensure asset protection so as to ensure the property remains outside the reach of divorce disputes or even de facto relationship break-ups.

Nash apparently comes from a rather privileged family – he seems to be a boy who was born with a silverspoon in his mouth (& most certainly acts like one which is more my issue with left wingers like him than their family trusts) so it would make sense that the family would want to ensure their property remains in tact.

Just so long as he is being a tax dodger…

Born with a silver spoon in his mouth. But why did they have to put it in sideways?

      • cows4me

I found some of the most rabid socialists are the ones that have been born with a sliver spoon in their mouth. Not sure what it is but maybe because they have had life a bit easier they see the world that way. When something is handed you all your life you expect that in your politics and for others, it’s a different story if you have to work for it.

Also, at some levels of socialism there is spoon-stealing goes on. They then give the stuff to their faithful.

So what this says is that “Socialists are really just Capitalists in drag, and stay in drag till their heads are above the shit pond, then take off their drag and become Capatilists”

  • peterwn

Nicky Hager would be plain daft if he did not use a trust – in his game he needs to be personally protected by extreme poverty. No point in seeing his wealth flowing to Crosby-Textor.

interesting read from this little-red corner of the blogosphere.
