[In feudal Japan, merchants were the lowest class because unlike farmers and artisans, they don’t actually produce anything.]

Same holds true today really. Peddlers of things.

    • Ronnie Chow

You are an exporter , remember that post ?

      • chadchambers

        I make what I export.

        • Bunswalla

          You export jism?

          • williamabong

            Gold

          • chadchambers

Plenty of women would queue up for it.

        • unitedtribes

That is the difference of an exporter and a ticket clicker

        • Col

          Norman and Shearer dolls?
You wouldn’t export many of those.

        • Ronnie Chow

Do you make your product by hand ? A peddler of things , no less !

  • Hazards001

In feudal Japan, merchants were the lowest class because unlike farmers and artisans, they don’t actually produce anything
And they still don’t. They clip the ticket..nothing more. So when a car salesman or retailer of electronic goods made in Taiwan or a clothing salesman that has all their merchandise made in Bangladesh has an opinion on labour law the exchange rate or the cost of locally produced goods and services in NZ I do tend to get a funny look on my face.

    • Bunswalla

So I guess doctors are low-class citizens too? They don’t produce anything. And the police, armed forces, dentists, nurses. Anybody that doesn’t grow something or make something is a low-class citizen?

That has to be one of the stupidest views ever expressed on this blog, which is saying something. Admittedly you’re not the only one to express this view, but the other one’s a certifiable retard so I’d hardly recommend that company.

      • Hazards001

All of those people produce something. They create well people and safer society subjectively speaking.

    • Bazar

“And they still don’t. They clip the ticket..nothing more.”
And deliver the product? Which enables the circle of trade, which without the middleman, there would be no trade at all.

You think we should all drive to Marsden Point to fill our cars up?
Walk across town to deliver our letters?

” I do tend to get a funny look on my face.”
Its called looking naive and/or ignorant

Perhaps when you grow up, you’ll understand how the real world works. Until then, i’d suggest you listen to what retailers are saying when they talk about labour laws and exchange rates, they probably have a far better understanding than yourself.

      • Hazards001

Go and grow something build something or do something then come back to me.

You sound like a car salesman you whinny bitch!

        • Bazar

“Go and grow something build something or do something then come back to me.”

          Been there, done that.

The fact that you try to justify your untenable position by claiming doctors produce “well people” is absurd.

By the same broken logic, farmers are in the service industry because they all just service produce, and the government is in manufacturing because they’re building our economy.

Anyway, i’m done with your stupidity, i’m wasting my time even typing this post.

          • Hazards001

and i wasted mine reading it..fuck off

What evil person decided to put a picture of a properly scary clown alongside the “fear of clowns” section of that wiki article?
I had to cover half the screen to discover that I’m not alone!
