Labour’s new direction – 54 days to go

Labour-54

I’m pretty sure that this countdown is never going to get to the end…it is all on in Labour.

Last night Duncan Garner tweeted this:

And the consummate numbers man Trevor Mallard was dining at Bellamy’s with Andrew Little and David Clark along with Sir Bob Jones….a man not prone to dining in public unless a message needs to be sent.

The word is that Andrew Little is the man making the push, bitter at being told to forget Rongotai and livid that there appears to be a plan to hand Christchurch East to Sue Moroney for the by-election.

National could not have planned for a better political soap opera / drama than Shearer and Labour and the Greens. They’re like the gift that keeps on giving… or from Labour’s perspective… it’s like herpes – that just won’t fuckin’ cure!
The media sharks can “taste” more political blood in the water… and they’re circling, getting ever hungrier…
    Popcorn and free beer anyone?

Interesting, Sir Robert apparently supported National in 2008, NZ First in 2011, so it now seems to be Labour’s turn. Presumably he thinks he can make money out of unintended consequences of Labour/Green whacky policies.

So Labour is blaming coup rumours on to National – cannot think why since David Shearer is quite acceptable to National, for example John Key has had plenty of time to prepare for David Sheraer’s questions – David asks the same one each time. A new opposition leader may not make things so simple for John Key.

Wellington office rentals for a start.

More to the point, perhaps he’s sick of how leftwing the country is under Key, and wants a move back to the centre? Labour are still promoising to cut super, and Key’s still promising to resign rather than take the smallest bit of fiscal responsibility for the country

“Key’s still promising to resign rather than take the smallest bit of fiscal responsibility for the country”
Umm what do you think Key has been doing since 2008? Arguably, he’s been doing nothing but running the country with exceptional fiscal responsibility ever since National became the government. AND especially so, when contrasted against the likes of L&G…

Labour’s super cut promise is virtually meaningless when the detail is considered. The ‘phase in’ is very slow, arguably so the promoters would not be personally affected. Then there is the let-out you can drive a bus through. A ‘working’ person can resign at 65 and collect the superannuation regardless of a rising age limit. The implication that this is to be limited to ‘blue collar’ labouring and trades workers, but where is the line to be drawn – nurses?, teachers?, cops? managers? There would also be pressure to reduce it to 60 for this group. So it looks that the only people affected by the police would be the self employed or other limited groups.

John Key has pointed out that the increasing cost of super is not nearly as big problem as spiralling health care costs for the elderly. The latter can only be restrained by policies that many would regard as brutal and heartless.

Jones got his knighthood from a Labour Government, along with other rip-off artists like Fay and Douglas. Must be payback time.

Property investors love labour. They make a huge gain during their tenure.

Graph property prices with left/ right on bottom axis.

This is why left starting with Helen invest in housing stock.

      Look at silent t’s fortune.
