Cunliffe on Pruning the Deadwood

The great thing about primary races…just like in the US is the ability to inspect a candidate’s history.

Silent T, the man who cannot lie, has previously promised to wield the axe over members involved in the ‘shellacking’ at the 2011 elections.

Of course that involves Grant Robertson and the ABC club.

People like Clayton Cosgrove, Chris Hipkins, Trevor Mallard and Grant Robertson could all be in for a long winter in the backbench wilderness if David Cunliffe wins #laboursgottalent.

That is of course unless David Cunliffe has changed his mind – which would make this a blatant lie then.

This is a party with deep, deep divisions.

Who cares, the winner will be blind, leading the blind, they just don’t have anyone who hasn’t been though the washing machine, they are all dirty.

    • johnbronkhorst

More like the blind leading the stupid!

      • Roger

The blind leading the deaf and stupid.

  • Apolonia

To get rid of the “dead wood,” they’ll need a chainsaw!

  • Whafe

Factions, factions and then some more factions…..

A joke beyond a joke is the Labour Party, dead in the water, or in simple terms a “cluster fuck”

  • conwaycaptain

Bring in new talent?? What Talent?? More PROFESSIONAL POLLIES

  • For Cunliffe to clean out the dead wood he would need to take the secateurs to his own neck first. After all, he was and will continue to be a toxic liability for the Labia Party.

    • Mr_Blobby

      Remember the T is silent.

      • AngryTory

        no it’s not.

        • Mr_Blobby

Silent T wont stop undermining, the party, from within, until he has control.

It could be a death march to oblivion.

          • johnbronkhorst

Very pre war stalin, don’t you think?

  • arnie

WO Who is paying what must be a fortune so these 3 can Junket around the country, I hope I am not contributing??

    • Yes, you are. Taxpayer funds on a 3 way election campaign.

  • LesleyNZ

Think David Cunliffe is the man then! Pruning must be done for new growth. Especially so after reading this in today’s NZ Herald. Shane Jones – what you are advocating is even more stupid than the original policy. Tit for tat politics is not mature thinking. “Jones promises to take on Aussies”
“Leadership contender wants ban on Australians buying NZ homes.
If he becomes Prime Minister, one of Shane Jones’ first moves will be to deliver a one-fingered salute to Australia by extending Labour’s policy restricting overseas-based foreigners from buying property in New Zealand to include Australians.

The Labour Party leadership contender said he would make the move partly in retaliation for Canberra’s refusal to give New Zealanders living in Australia social security entitlements.

“When our people are in Australia, I get so many angry retorts that they are not treated in any way reflective of how they contribute to that society. So I’m not particularly interested in being overly generous to the Aussies coming to New Zealand when I know how our own people over there are treated.”

Labour’s policy, which is aimed at preventing foreign speculators from pushing up house prices, currently excludes Australians, partly because of the Closer Economic Relations agreement and because Canberra’s similar restriction on foreign buyers does not include New Zealanders

Mr Jones said the policy, perceived as targeting Asian buyers, should apply equally to all foreigners who were not residents or citizens if it was to achieve its purpose…………………………………….”

    • AngryTory

Does anyone really expect Australia’s “Open Door” policy on bludging Kiwis who can’t get work in NZ coming in free to Oz – does anyone really believe that will last a full term under Tony Abbott.

I sure as fuck don’t – and were Jones to do this, that would be the end of free, unrestricted visas for Kiwis to come to Oz. Hell his own backbenchers would forces a snap election that he’d lose in a landslide.

But all this is academic: neither Jones, Robertson, Cuntliffe, Goff, King, Little, Hipkins or any of ’em are ever going to be PM of NZ.

      • blokeintakapuna

Like another commentator mentioned last week, Labour’s next Prime Minister hasn’t even graduated from Intermediate school yet.

      • Mr_Blobby

I think your being a bit unfair there Tory. Any Maori worth a tin of anything has left for Australia and is doing well. But more than a few of our criminals and welfare bludgers went along for the ride, they are the ones causing the problems and for obvious reason the Australians don’t want them. Ask yourself what would you do, put up with it or send them back.

What we have left is the maori elite that controls everything Maori, trying desperately to cling to there concept of tribalism and stay relevant, in a modern World, and their slaves, who are currently being housed and fed by the state in prisons or sitting in state houses with benefits.

      • Patrick

There is no open door for bludgers. Kiwis migrating to Australia cannot claim benefits, have not been able to for many years. The policy suits Australia down to the ground, they have full access to a labour market that has a wide cross section, from truckies to work in their mines, tradespeople through to teachers, engineers & doctors. Even a wife for Tony Abbott. Australia picks them up already trained by the Kiwi system. Who benefits from this? Certainly not NZ. Those Kiwis can work in Aus for many years, Australia are happy to deduct tax from them & give little in return. Case in point the recent floods in Queensland where Kiwis living & working in Aus for upwards of 20 years were denied Government assistance.
Your premise of Kiwis going to Australia to bludge is from the 1980s

        • Col

I cant remember the year, Muldoon had been told by Aussy that they had to may NZers on the dole, but Muldoon showed the Aussy that per head of population there were more Aussy on the dole in NZ, true.

  • Mr_Blobby

    Tough choice all around.

A disloyal scheming backstabber, A poofter or a piss and wind pervert.

All that is needed now is for that green Muppet wussel to join the race.

  • DLNZ

Last time I checked gorse was almost impossible to get rid of.

    • blokeintakapuna

Yah but with gorse you can “spray and walk away”

    • LesleyNZ

Try Escort – kills almost everything – especially oxalis weeds.

  • cows4me

If Cunny gets the nod he should get hold of a good stock agent and have a good fucken cull. Labia needs to cull out the non produces and bring in young blood. Sure they are probably as insane as the old lot but how the hell does Labia expect to lift production it they constantly roll out the dried out old hags.

    • Cadwallader

Agree, but who or what would be left?

  • johnbronkhorst

“People like Clayton Cosgrove, Chris Hipkins, Trevor Mallard and Grant Robertson”

But this is the smartest of them (and they are pig shit stupid)! Prune these and who is left. Do this to your lemon tree and you will be digging it up.

We won’t see labour in any form for a decade……GO CUNNY!!

  • AnonWgtn

Cunliffe might make it but the “Robertson supporters family” – the Caucus who make the decision as to Deputy will vote Robertson back in – that would f..k Cunliffe to have the losing knifeman at his back.

  • AngryTory

Cuntliffe – NZs own Kevin Rudd.

Loved by the party’s terrorist base. Hated by anyone he’s ever worked with.

  • Sir Cullen’s Sidekick

Whale Oil Bros – My spies from Levin called me just a moment ago. Standing room only to listen the three amigos. A crowd of 30,000 turned up and people have been queuing up since 4:00 AM to get into the hall. My spies tell me that people were energised and shouting – “NZ needs Labour. Tax the rich pricks”. Curryleaf was given a hero’s welcome it seems…..

    • johnbronkhorst

      30000 wouldn’t be a crowd…it would be an infestation.
