Face of the day [updated]

“I am Chelsea Manning, I am female. Given the way that I feel, and have felt since childhood, I want to begin hormone therapy as soon as possible. I hope that you will support me in this transition.
I also request that, starting today, you refer to me by my new name and use the feminine pronoun (except in official mail to the confinement facility). I look forward to receiving letters from supporters and having the opportunity to write back.”
Manning, 25, was sentenced on Wednesday to 35 years in a military prison for turning over classified files to WikiLeaks.

[UPDATE]

Go on, he really wants you to send him a letter in prison.

That statement should be enough to guarantee Chelsea an interesting stay at Leavenworth.

    • Garbageman

agreed that’s going to be one long shower cue

      • Cadwallader

A long queue or a long cue? The latter would be rigidly exciting!

  • snakebit

What a strange little man. Not sure what he was thinking when he released all those documents. Maybe he just wanted to be someone important? Whatever the reason I doubt very much he thinks it was worth it now!

    • Like Edward Snowden and Julian Assange, I believe that Bradley Manning has an inflated sense of his own importance, hence his need to be in the limelight. It borders on a narcissistic personality disorder.

      He certainly needs psychological help.

      • FredFrog

        Absolute narcissist.

      • Orange

Unfortunately they are encouraging such behaviour in schools nowadays. They don’t look pretty, they look like prostitutes.

        • BobaJob

          There’s a fruit for everyone’s taste Orange…. ;)

          • Orange

Just because we are free to do anything doesn’t mean that everything is good for us. “Dude can you take the sign off your back that says kick me” “But I like the colour!” I see it like Silly Name Syndrome. You can see the future damage it will cause that can so easily be avoided without removing anyone’s “individuality”.

          • BobaJob

Do you think there isn’t such a thing as gender identity disorder?

          • Orange

Disorder implies something is wrong. Is there? Or is the problem how we express those things that make us unique?

          • BobaJob

It’s the term the medical profession use to describe the condition. I tend to agree with its use and what it signifies.

A man insisting that he is a women would have to be a disorder (and vice versa). The gender reassignment operation is used in many of the cases to address the disorder. I think on the balance of it getting the old tosh chopped off wouldn’t be worth any amount attention. :(

          • spollyike

It is a psychological disorder, like being homosexual, no more no less. Only the PC propaganda of the liberal socialists tells us it isn’t. Ironic how we still despise rapists and pedo’s as the scum of the earth in the same way we used to despise the gays.
Surely these monsters have some sort of disorder too, yet do we see the PC identity politics crowd getting on their soapbox about them being victims etc, no, not politically advantageous is it?

          • BobaJob

How does someone who thinks they are the gender they are not get compared to someone who uses sexual violence on a weaker person?

      • Anonymouse Coward

Couldn’t agree more. Do you think the other side of the fence, the funny police side, fits David Lange’s description of an organization that attracts the committed or should be committed as well?

Back in the day the Poms recruited for the funny police from Oxford and Cambridge Universities, because they thought Oxbridge men had the right stuff. How did that work out? Now the US funny police are beset with leaky narcissists one of whom they gave no alternative but to accept the hospitality of the FSB in a dacha deep in the Russian Forest.

All this nonsense should cause those who lead us to wonder if the funny police are really worth all the bother.

  • Greg

Feel sorry for his family having a weirdo son I mean daughter I mean…..

  • Betty Swallocks

Given that, by the time he gets out of jail he’ll have a rectum big and slack enough to park a quad bike in, I suppose he thought he should make the best of it and at least look the part. The other alternative could be that someone said to him ‘Fuck, man! You really look like David Bain with those retarded glasses on’ and the comparison upset him a bit.

  • Cadwallader

Had he got the death penalty it would’ve cured his weird leanings.

  • BR

What a nut. An prime example of a good reason to keep poofs out of the army.

    Bill.

  • Muffin

He might be unpopular outside, but he is going to be very popular inside!

  • Col

Now this guy/girl would fit right in as the new Labour Party Leader.

  • BobaJob

Why only the one grainy old photo of him dressed as a female? Are there any more?

    • williamabong

Can you not get your fill of gay porn on the sites you normally hang out on.

      • BobaJob

Its just interesting that in this day and age of the selfie, social media and all that – and he is only 25 – that there only the one picture?

edit: and it’s a shit one.

        • LabTested

          explaining is losing

          • Mark

            Giggety

          • BobaJob

Lucky my teachers don’t think that.

  • MarcWills

Good luck with that Pvte Manning – it didn’t work for Corporal Klinger either.

  • David

Hey, he’s there for 35 years. Man’s got to have a hobby to pass the time.

  • pidge

This falls into the category of “the truth is stranger than fiction” AKA “You couldn’t make this shit up”.

    • BobaJob

Would have to agree, probably couldn’t make it up if you tried!

I think his real crime was being stupid enough to think he was going to change something in some way. At the age of 22 I guess we all think we know it all and can change the world to the way we think it should be.

  • opusx

The kicker is he/she and her lawyer are asking that the army pay for hormone treatment/sex change at the expense of the US taxpayer. And it looks like the army may be legally obliged to do so. Guess this little traitor gets the last laugh.

    • GazzW

Hmmm……..depends on who gets to shower with him.

      • LabTested

Maybe he’s trying to get sent to a women’s prison

  • steve and monique

Be Chelsea Bunns when he/she gets inside.

  • blueballs

I think what we have here is an ideal labour party leader candidate.
This would get the man banners fizzing at the bung.

  • Lightbulb

As a female, all future leaks will be made whilst seated.

  • Anonymouse Coward

This not unusual behaviour within the spy v spy world of the funny police.

Their is a strong suspicion former FBI director J Edgar Hoover liked to dress up in wimmins clothes.

  • Mr_V4

Some disgusting bile filled comments in this post.

    • williamabong

Thank you, we all try to please.
