  • Can’t be good to have the USSR and Canada be the same colour. Always said Canada is going to hell in a handbasket. (No, I have, you just weren’t paying attention)

    • Mr_V4

Petal, it’s not longer USSR. – And you might want to check out Russias tax rates, you’ll probably die of a heart attack.

      • Mea Culpa. I mean Russia. Old habits die hard.

  • Josh Metcalfe

That’s not entirely true, most employers offer paid maternity leave in the US

    • Mr Sackunkrak

Good point, (it’s either a State matter, or) good employers that want to retain good employees who want to work for good employers bargain between themselves without the dead hand of the Government slamming itself into their private affairs.

  • Michael

Often the US government doesn’t have laws for something, leaving it up to the State government. For instance California does have 6 weeks Paid Parental Leave.

Same also applies to minimum wage, the Federal rate is $7.25, but California (for example again) it is $8.00.

  • Mr Sackunkrak

Britain isn’t quite right, it needs its own category labeled “Permanent, and with a Citroen Picasso people mover thrown in if you pop out more than 3 over as many years and have a sore vagina, or thumb or some such”.

    • Hazards001

Lol it’s a Hyundai People Mover here but apart from that what’s different?

  • RightOfGenghis

China? Paid parental leave? Pull the other one ;)
