NZ’s dodgiest LBP Nominee – Ewan Wilson

ewan-shot01I was only going to post one per day but the tipline has been flooded with nominations for NZ’s Dodgiest Local Body Politician.

Here is one rat bag from Hamilton.

Ewan Wilson, candidate for Mayor and Councillor at Hamilton City Council and to be a Board member of the Waikato District Health Board Wilson is a very special case.

A master manipulator and charlatan. This man was not only convicted on four counts of fraud but the Securities Commission went as far as banning Wilson from holding a directorship or senior management position for a five year period. This was pretty unusual as the Commissioner also said that Wilson acted without moral regard.

Hmmm… sounds like the sort that really cares about people!

More recently he is one of the Councillors that couldn’t man up to be part of the Council’s tribunal on the fluoridation issue – instead wimping out and stepping down from any involvement. It was only after the Tribunal’s decision (and the massive public outcry) that dodgy Wilson decided he had better save face and cobbled together a bit of faux outrage.

This is a man who in the past has cosied up to opposing political parties in Hamilton in the hope of being a central government candidate for them – of course he doesn’t appear to care what the party principles are… he just wants more power, more money and more Ewan. It is all about Ewan.

Like the Securities Commission said in the past… the man is devoid of any moral regard. It is all about Ewan!

As much at home writing editorials as being the subject of them, Cam has won awards, including the Canon Media Award for his work on the Len Brown/Bevan Chuang story. When he’s not creating the news, he tends to be in it, with protagonists using the courts, media and social media to deliver financial as well as death threats.

They say that news is something that someone, somewhere, wants kept quiet. Cam Slater doesn’t do quiet and, as a result, he is a polarising, controversial but highly effective journalist who takes no prisoners.
