The “kamikaze wing” has returned

Ruth Laugeson has an article in the latest Listener that quote Mike Williams when discussing the membership of the Labour party.

Mike Williams was good at a number of things. One was fundraising, something Moira Coatesworth and Tim Barnett refuse to do…but what he was best at was dropping the ban hammer on the loons.

That seems to have deserted labour and they are flocking back in to a depleted party, swelling and over-powering the ranks.

National’s membership has never been that low and they don’t have union affiliates to pad out the numbers. No wonder funds are scarce in Labour with membership as low as that. Even at the top end of 10,000 member Labour is falling behind National in party membership by a factor of 6 or 7.

As much at home writing editorials as being the subject of them, Cam has won awards, including the Canon Media Award for his work on the Len Brown/Bevan Chuang story.  And when he’s not creating the news, he tends to be in it, with protagonists using the courts, media and social media to deliver financial as well as death threats.

They say that news is something that someone, somewhere, wants kept quiet.   Cam Slater doesn’t do quiet, and as a result he is a polarising, controversial but highly effective journalist that takes no prisoners.

He is fearless in his pursuit of a story.

Love him or loathe him.  But you can’t ignore him.
