And then there were three – Jones announces and Robertson spams members

Great times ahead. Shane Jones appears to be in the fight for #Laboursgottalent

Say what you like about Shane Jones but he always seems to have a firm grip on the issues before him.

Meanwhile Grant Robertson appears to have got his plants in the leaders office to get hold of a members email list. and has spammed them all tonight announcing his intention to stand.

What is this guy Grunts history anyway?

    • Work history? None. Zero. Zip. Zilch. Never had a real job, his whole career with his front feet in the trough.

      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grant_Robertson

      • Liberty

He did work/trough for the UN in New York.
What is it with Labour and New York? Young Labour go there
to learn to trough and the has-beens retire there.
Havana no longer good enough for the chardonnay Socialist.

      • Micky

Not true, I heard on Firstline this morning, he once worked in a supermarket.
        That must count for something.

        • Liberty

          A Trolley boy
Was that when he discovered hard work wasn’t his forte.

  • GregM

He may be just the tool to help them all to pull together.

    • FredFrog

      He is a tool, alright…….

He mentions three “issues” in this open letter that the previous Labia leader got absolutely no traction on…..because New Zealanders JUST DON’T CARE ABOUT THEM!!!!!!! (Apart from being entire wrong on one of them)

When are these pricks in Labia going to wake up listen to New Zealanders? Because until they do, they’ll stay out in the cold.

      • GregM

I was commenting about Jonesy, you are right about Robertson though, nobody really gives a shit about those three “issues”.

      • rrroberto

He also mentions a team which person for person outshines their opponents. Quite right! Shearer outshines Key, Robertson outshines Brownlee, Parker outshines English, Little outshines Collins, Arden outshines Bennett, somebody outshines Joyce. The other shining lights in his team are so bright they are invisible. This guy not only writes Tui Ads, he drinks far too many of them when writing campaign opening letters

      • AngryTory

        Of course we fucking care.
We care about the hundreds of thousands of bludgers Key hasn’t chooped of the welfare rolls; we care about the millinos of families reduced to bludging via WFF & student loans; we care about yet more money being flushed away on railway loops, affording homes, and school meals!

        • FredFrog

You really are still a one trick pony.

Shut up and fuck off. Your rants are boring, and NO ONE CARES!

  • paddles83

Will chicken shit little be his running mate and able to take him in hand

    • keep up, he pulled out :)

      • GregM

Could be a difficult appointment. Who would want to be Jones “right hand man”.

        • Wouldn’t have thought he’d need one, he seems pretty ‘handy’ on his own :)

          • GregM

Yeah but the polls are all going down…

          • Sir Cullen’s Sidekick

Are you living in Planet Key? GregM bro?

Today’s New Zealand Roy Morgan Poll shows a plunge in support
for Prime Minister John Key’s National Party to 44% (down 7% since July
15-28, 2013). Support for Key’s Coalition partners has changed little
with the Maori Party 2% (up 0.5%), ACT NZ 0.5% (down 0.5%) and United
            Future 0% (unchanged).

Support for Labour has increased to 34% (up 5%); Greens are 14% (up
4%) – their highest level of support since August 2012, New Zealand
First 3% (down 1%), Mana Party 0.5% (down 0.5%), Conservative Party of
NZ 1% (down 0.5%) and Others 1% (unchanged).

If a National Election were held now the latest NZ Roy Morgan Poll shows that a Labour/ Greens alliance would win.

          • GregM

SCS Bro, now that the pink pork piccolo polisher Jonesy has put his purple helmet into the ring, I expect all rouge morgan poles to be heavily biased , and will now favour my cuzz Winston as PM. Titter if you wish, but watch this space.
EDIT : I am hugely looking forward to a few weeks of schoolboy bikeshed humour about Jonesy over the next few weeks. :-)

      • paddles83

Well aware of that……That was before he knew Jones would stand :)
Watch this space Jones needs the unions

      • FredFrog

        Pulled out of what? Robertson?

  • spollyike

The Maardi party and Mana would be worried, might lose a few votes to Labia. Good move!

  • Jman

Not a single bit of substance in that letter. Just the usual platitudes. Hey Grant here’s a suggestion – how about telling us what you would actually DO differently?

    • Bryan

well that letter just gives us another reason to vote for JK whats that saying
“where there is no vision the people perish ” they have nothing to offer at all

they have passed their use by date

  • Monty

Labour will see a lift in the polls. Hopefully at the expense of the greens. However there is an elephant is the room. Well two actually.
Firstly what will labour do to convince NZ that they will be good economic managers?that much will not change no matter who is the leader.
Secondly who will have the management skills needed to manage the hydra. The factions within labour , but add into the nasty mix the lunacy of the greens, the ego of Winston, the extremeism and racism of mana, and the Mari party. All this can only end in tears.

    • Liberty

After all that Labour have a small problem.

Heartland NZ is happy with National.

Having Labour lead by a Union Puppet is not going to do it.

      • Sir Cullen’s Sidekick

Check the Morgan poll to know who is happy with whom Liberty bell…

It has been known for a corpse to have a little spasm.

    • AngryTory

Labour will see a lift in the polls.

Oh really? After a month of internecine backstabbing, bickering, and Labour’s factional divisions played out over the country’s TV screens for a month.

Were I Key, I’d be tempted to put through a five-year term under urgency, and then a snap election for the end of the month.

  • Hazards001

Cams post give Jones announcement the credibility it needs…short and sweet. I’d like do see him succeed as I at least put him in the valid camp.I’m not going to bet my ham sammie on him though.

However the laughingly absurd email from Robertson says it all. Typical of a poof to rabbit on about families and grandchildren. Labour retoric from the mouth of a hypocrite.
Add to that his bullshit about employment numbers rising when for the most part they are falling and the occasional blip is the transferring of the disaffected fuckwits that Helen, he and his rainbow mates transferred off the unemployment stats and onto invalid and sickness benefits to make her numbers valid that are now being moved back to the lower paid “job seeker allowance?”

    Guys a fucking tool!

  • Sir Cullen’s Sidekick

Porn King’s entry will not make any damn difference to Curryleaf. Curryleaf will win big time.

  • LesleyNZ

Give me a break! What grandchildren is he referring to? So false.

    • GregM

      good point.

  • Mr Sackunkrak

” … principled, has vision and works”

Labour is none of that. I wonder which party he’s on about?

  • EpochNZ

Something was bothering me about Gwant Wobertsons letter to the faithful until I twigged what it was…..its exactly like the essays I used to write for 5th form history when I didnt actually know anything about the subject in question. Its full of words but lacking any real message.

If I was marking this as an exam essay, my comment would be “Answer The Fucking Question!” If I was an employer and a CV came across my desk with this as a covering letter he would very quickly be getting the form letter saying “Thanks, but no thanks”. As a matter of fact, this wouldnt even get past the QA process at a toilet paper factory.

D- Grant, must try harder….try speaking to your audience rather than at them.

    • LabTested

Well said. I actually struggled to remain focused while reading the letter. It was so bland

  • la la land

I have to say that if Labour wants to appeal to traditional labour voters Shane Jones would be the man. He would also attract the Maori/Polynesian block. Cunliffe too smarmy and Robertson too PC. They keep saying that he has lost the womans vote but I wouldn’t be too sure about that – women don’t want to hear about porn but they are not stupid.

  • I’m Right

Of anyone in Labour, Jones is the one (of the current lacklustre MP’s) I have time for, 34MP’s and I opt for a wanker!, but joking aside, Jones is astute, lazy, talks crap, but he has one thing that the others don’t …he’s Maori!…ummm basically that it, not an indepth analysis I agree, but Labour needed a Maori to at least throw hat in the ring (and he hates the Greens, good in my book), really surprised no female has put her hat in the ring, guess that omission is Key/Nationals fault? :)
