Yes, but Fonterra lost the balls a few months ago, idiots.

  • JC Carter

So, the millions and millions that fonterra and their shareholders pay into the government pocket each year is inadequate for MPI to do their own job?

  • cows4me

I doubt whether Cactus would really give a stuff, she dislikes farmers and their business with a passion, but it wouldn’t be coming out of Fonterra’s pockets, the shareholders would be picking up the tab.

    • IWantToBeLikeMallardOneDay

A blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while.

  • Jimmie

There are plenty of farmer shareholders pretty keen for some top level accountability as well. If a cockup like this doesn’t result in someone looking for work what would?

  • Anonymouse Coward

The hysteria needs to be taken down a notch. No ones health has been affected by this, Fonterra acted to contain the problem. Can we have less shrieking please.

Fonterra do have to provide reassurance that a serious glitch in equipment cleaning has been sorted, and testing putt in place to make sure the delay in detection doesn’t happen again.

I’d just like to interrupt for a second,

    Revised botulism death count: 0

    • GazzW

Last botulism death in NZ 28 years ago and I believe that was caused by contaminated honey.

Great opportunity to top up on some discount shares. The press have spun their normal magic ensuring that they piped up a disaster both here and in china but the smart money will see through this and get some god value shares. 38 tonne FFS out of how many million tonne!

We are told that these MANAGERS in whatever position in NZ have to be paid MEGA salaries to keep the best people.
So we have the manager in Welly who didn’t tell JK that the emails had been sent to the Henry enquiry.
We have managers in Fonterra who kept the lid on this for 15 months.
We have the head of the ChCh City Council being investigated.
    Who next??

  • steve and monique

Fonterra may have cocked up,but figure all will be well in the future. Will still buy there products, and baby formula.. And with our new arrival today(boy) will be putting that to the test real soon.

    • Hazards001

      whooo hoo congrats

    • GregM

That’s great news, hope all are well :-)

    • Dave

Congrats to all, hope mum and baby doing well, dad recovering!!

PS: count the cost of the baby in the first year, add 20% to that cost every year till 5, then 30% every year to 13, then double till they get a job and leave home.

      Top effort!

  • IWantToBeLikeMallardOneDay

I looked up “bottom feeder” in the thesaurus. One of the entries was “Fonterra” as well as “Telecom.”

    • FredFrog

Right next to “Green Party”, “Labour” and “Unions”, perchance?
