America’s Cup – Race 12 (and only race 12, we hope) [OPEN POST]

Morning everyone.

From 8am TVNZ is streaming it here.

Peter Montgomery will be calling it live on Radio Sport here.

America’s Cup Virtual Eye is here.

(Sorry for the late start – life got in the way)

I joined the race with Oracle ahead by 140m halfway towards the 3rd mark.

Oracle still lead by 140m as they approach the 3rd mark, the difference having fluctuated betweem 140 and 10 meters, but TNZ couldn’t find a way past.

Oracle lead TNZ at 10 seconds as they round the mark and both boats are off on a split tack.

Halfway down the beat, Oracle now lead by 500m.  Amazing difference compared to the other day.

Oracle lead TNZ by 28 seconds at the 4th mark as Oracle sprints to the finish to make the score

TNZ 8 – Oracle 2  (with a difference of 30 seconds)

It appears we will need Race 13.

Sailing is “doubtful” for Race 13 as the wind is too strong.

Oracle will get the favoured Port entry again next race, so we could see an 9-3 score line by the time we get to push the start advantage home.

Wind is still too strong. Looks like the race will be abandoned until tomorrow.

The wind has cooperated, and we’re 2 minutes before the start to race 13.

And no sooner did I write that, and the race has been postponed until 8:15 tomorrow.
