Big chopper no good in Roman times

The old saying goes that Italian rifles are among the best kept in the world…they’ve never been fired and only dropped once.

In the days before the Italians learned to march backwards they reckoned a big chopper was a social handicap.

Though sexuality was not as stigmatized as it is today, overly-frequent sex was strongly discouraged and viewed as a sign of moral weakness in Roman society. Adultery also prompted strong ostracization and stiff punishments.

Contrary to modern sexual stereotypes, having a large penis was considered undesirable in Roman society. Images like the one above were intended to comically portray the unfortunately well-endowed.
