Will he be more popular than John Minto? Also bloody hard to campaign from a cell in Los Angeles. Convicted fraudster and insider trader Kim Dotcom looks like he may try to run for parliament.

Megaupload founder Kim Dotcom appears poised to run for parliament.

The German millionaire, who is fighting extradition to the United States where he faces copyright charges, took to Twitter today to acknowledge his plans to enter politics.

“My embryonic NZ political plans leaked by whistleblower. Still looking for partners. Not ready yet,” Dotcom tweeted.

I hope he will explain to Kiwi voters all about Megaporn.com and Megarotic.com...

The good news is he will take plenty of votes off the Greens and Labour…could be electoral carnage…even better will be watching those two parties first of all fall all over Billy Big Steps to court him then when they realise he is cannibalising their vote turn on him.

Of course the biggest problem that Billy Big Steps faces is that he is not and not ever likely to be a NZ Citizen. You can’t stand for parliament if you are not.

As much at home writing editorials as being the subject of them, Cam has won awards, including the Canon Media Award for his work on the Len Brown/Bevan Chuang story. When he’s not creating the news, he tends to be in it, with protagonists using the courts, media and social media to deliver financial as well as death threats.

They say that news is something that someone, somewhere, wants kept quiet. Cam Slater doesn’t do quiet and, as a result, he is a polarising, controversial but highly effective journalist who takes no prisoners.

He is fearless in his pursuit of a story.
