2013 Union Statistics continued – this looks very bad

Observation by the Owl

There are 371,000 Union members in New Zealand.

234,000 work for the tax payers

This looks very bad because the underlying numbers are even worse.

These half dozen tax payer unions that make up the 234,000 members generate approximately $50M in wages (I am verifying this because the societies office has laid out all the unions now in the new register but last year it was $63M on all unions) and approximately 500 union reps enjoy this pool of cash.

This looks very bad for the Labour Party as these unions are running Labour Party campaigns.

Watch for further developments.

As much at home writing editorials as being the subject of them, Cam has won awards, including the Canon Media Award for his work on the Len Brown/Bevan Chuang story.  And when he’s not creating the news, he tends to be in it, with protagonists using the courts, media and social media to deliver financial as well as death threats.

They say that news is something that someone, somewhere, wants kept quiet.   Cam Slater doesn’t do quiet, and as a result he is a polarising, controversial but highly effective journalist that takes no prisoners.

He is fearless in his pursuit of a story.

Love him or loathe him.  But you can’t ignore him.
