Comment of the Day

There is an impatience for the Len Brown affair to be over.  And the blame is accumulating at the feet of the Main Stream Media for pandering to Brown’s spin monkeys instead of doing an incisive and decisive job

Come on the fourth estate – this is not about a man that had a bonk, a one night stand he’s sorry for or that is that’s inconsequential, this is about a man who has admitted to at least one two year affair with an aspirational and much younger politico.

It shows he can cynically use and be used in equal measure.

The reputation and integrity of our biggest and most important city and economy is at stake, and the Minister for Local government needs to be reminded of this.

Were this man to continue in this role there’ll always be an elephant in the room in any dealings.

I for one am not remotely interested in his half-arsed, half-declared, victim-playing insincere atonement.

Like much of Auckland I just want his resignation.  — kaykaybee

[UPDATE] So many great comments today, it is hard to pick.  Here is another

Has Len read today’s Dompost’s title page today?
The navy guy has been hung, drawn and quartered by the left leaning crew at the Dompost.
The guy’s lost his job for the same sort of offence Len committed.
Lenny’s lucky the press are on his side –

or have his minders done a deal with the Herald – interviews in ‘exchange’ for access

down the track.

If in fact he should he survive this. I can only surmise this is the case

with the Herald’s sudden about turn over the weekend with the ‘should he stay

polls’ etc. — Lesley Young
