Having two hands is mind-blowing‘: Woman turning into a ‘human statue’ has bionic arm fitted after illness saw her limb amputated at the age of three

It started with glasses, false teeth, hearing aids.

Now we have limbs, artificial hearts.

Soon, Google Glass, brain implants.

Direct computer/Internet interfaces…

Do you think your children will see the very first cyborgs?

At what point will we fit cyber-prosthetics at birth?

    Its not all that unfathomable.
In a society where we want everyone to have a fair go (well certain parts of society wish this) and with corporations standing to make vast sum of profits with constantly “upgrading” parts as people age I don’t think it will be all that far away.

I like the idea of it, allowing people to lead a semi normal life but I also have massive respect for those who take their disability, be it physical or mental and find a way to work with it or through it.

    How awesome for her…

I wonder if she got it from a 2nd Hand store… Or an ARMy Surplus Store?

It’s a pity the human race is such a bag of shit that we are only doing this stuff now. If we had got our shit together we would be at the Kuiper Belt mining asteroids and be in a post-scarcity world by now.

Off you go then, don’t let us hold you back Einstein.

      • Dick Brown

Ahahaha, that was a REALLY clever joke Bunswalla; in fact, I’m still laughing because the joke you just typed underneath my post was SO FUNNY.

That’s EXACTLY the response my 12-year old boy gives. Hmmm, either you are him, or you have the same mental age. I think it’s the latter (that means the second one; not the first one – just for you)

There are a lot of people that I would like to nominate for a brain transplant.

This person is a cyborg. The bionic arm provides feedback.
