Did Len Brown declare his gifts of free hotel rooms?

I see that room rates at the SkyCity Grand and the Langham start below the $300 dollar threshold which would require Len to list as a gift.

However, if he was upgraded to something more than the basic room – the $300 threshold would likely be passed. Plus we know he has used the hotels on multiple occasions, so the threshold of a gift has been passed anyway as a matter of quantum.

Could Len Brown confirm for us what rooms he stayed in for free.

Meanwhile, at the Langham I thought these deals seemed appropriate for Len:

The Chuan Journey…the only thing missing is a G…oh wait he bought a cheap one of those from Bras N Things.

Or perhaps he took int he delights of the Five Star Fling:

  • Not Mark Richardson

Asked if Auckland governance was suffering with the mayor out of action all week, Key said it was not. “In fairness he is dealing with the fallout of a significant issue; not unusual for public figures when they face crises, they go to ground a bit,” Key said.
“I am sure he will be back on the horse as soon as he can.”

Way to bring his wife into this John

    • sheppy

Given what he’s done in his first year has anyone noticed his absence? Perhaps the councils spending has gone down?

      • pukakidon

To be honest it seems like he has only been away for two minutes per sexual encounter, apparently that is all he needs to blow his load. I don’t think the time away from sexuality inept Len matters much.

Obviously a man who doesn’t get the woman off and is quite happy to premature ejaculate and then do a runner.

        • Patrick

Typical socialist, they say they care about all but in reality they are only in it for themselves.

    • Lion_ess

What an unusual phrase for John Key to use. Probably was going to say “back in the saddle”, but that wouldn’t be right just at the moment either. Oh well, “How’re they hangin’?”

How do you address someone who’s just been publicly outed as a dud root, and known to give himself a handy in his Mayoral suit?

    • Did he mean “whores” or “horse”

  • Toryboy

If it was all over in a minute or so – perhaps Brown felt he shouldn’t have to declare the remaining $299-80 of the daily rate?

    • AnonWgtn

      That’s a cheapee !!!

  • JLLJake

It is possible that the free food / snacks they received would need to be included within the free gift (getting it up to the $300 mark potentially). As a general rule of thumb, free gifts provided by hotels are not normally the bottom end rooms but are business level or higher. When my firm recently changed hotel providers, we were all bumped up from bottom room to 3rd tier accommodation with welcome packages, etc.

    • Sir Cullen’s Sidekick

Thanks for joining my Rich Pricks’ register to pay more taxes for Curryleaf’s social programmes….So your firm has a hotel provider eh? How rich?

      • JLLJake

Well some of us have to travel when we work. It’s called furthering economic development and contributing to the tax base.

        • Sir Cullen’s Sidekick

Excellent. Curryleaf is delighted you are working hard to contribute towards social welfare…..as a reward, he will be increasing your taxes….

          • JLLJake

It’s ok. 2 easy ways to counter increases in taxes. Lay-off staff to reduce costs, put prices up. I’ll be net zero.

  • Sir Cullen’s Sidekick

Hotels giveth, Brown taketh, you guys shut upth…

  • williamabong

Len didn’t actually use the room, she rubbed his arm in the lift on the way up and he fired the gun, he just needed a couple of towels to clean himself up,

    • Sir Cullen’s Sidekick

Legend has it he can last two minutes bro…..

      • Hone Horo

Auckland needs a mayor who can get things done quickly. Christchurch probably needs Len Brown as well!

      • Hazards001

        Slow lifts…

  • Col

I heard he didn’t up size to a larger room, as he went up in the lift and came back down, within 2 minutes!!!!

    • john

i stay at the laingham . good saune steam room ,.great resturaunt . hope i did not pay for her to be there , whats this skant trying to get into policts . she is bent , send her back to where she came from .

  • hunk4hire .

Len aint gettin’ any tonight, either……………….

    • GazzW

…………..or tomorrow, or the next night, or the next night. In fact I would say that Len could be on the couch for some time to come.

      • Sir Cullen’s Sidekick

Neh, everything is fine, you move on will ya?

  • Sir Cullen’s Sidekick

Lentil Brown’s gifts to the girl…..

    • Chloe perfume
    • Black bra and g-string
    • Sunblock
    • All Blacks DVD

Aucklanders deserve this and much more….no sympathy here….

    • tspoon

auckland shouldn’t complain, he’s lasted longer than two minutes, and definitely doesn’t want to pull out.

    • I’m still trying to figure out wtf they used sunblock for?

      • pukakidon

I have heard it stops the friction burns up the dirty hole. She rubs it all over her strap-on.

      • Sir Cullen’s Sidekick

May be Lentils used it as a lubricant…who knows Travis, who knows :-)

        • And lets not find out.

          • longjohn

Hew used it lubricate the two minute noodle

  • cows4me

Geez it’s no dog kennel, if I took the missus in there she wouldn’t let my lie on the bed, I might mess it up.

  • pukakidon

So these two hotel groups were sponsoring his dirty two minute sexual exploits.

Not sure why people haven’t made this comment before but I haven’t seen it. I travel for business and have a corporate credit card. If I travel the accommodation is not usually left to me to pay on the credit card.
The accommodation is booked by my corporate travel service and invoiced back to my employer apart from minibar type expenses which are charged to a personal credit card.
The wording of Len’s denials so far (I haven’t got a council credit card, and, it didn’t come from ‘mayoral funds’) to me still leaves open the obvious scenario of it being booked through the council travel service and invoiced back to Auckland City Council, but not to ‘mayoral funds’.
I find it pretty unlikely that the three hotels gave him free afternoon delight and I think Bevan’s comments on who paid for it unlikely to be based on anything other what Len told her in the moment.

    • Patrick

Rest assured there will be a far reaching, in depth, rigorous independent inquiry into this whole incident, no stone will be left unturned. Or the Auckland CEO could organise a sham inquiry & conclude with a “nothing to see here, move along”……if you were a betting man where would you place your bet?

      • GazzW

I would feel happier if it was the Auditor General doing the investigation.

Auckland City is a tad incestuous for my liking and the result of the audit will be treated with some skepticism.

        • Hazards001

Now now Gazz….there’s no need to bring Southland into it. Tim is staying where he is.

        • Patrick

Precisely Gazz, just how dependent is the CEO upon Brown’s ongoing mayoralty? I would suggest given the recent revelations re the CEO’s salary that any incoming new Mayor would see the current CEO as a suitable scalp – just to show everyone that the new mayor means business. Usually the case in the corporate world that a new boss has a wee clean out just to stamp his/her mark & make all the remaining staff sit up straight & pay attention.

      • AnonWgtn

        More likely the latter !

  • steve and monique

Or does he like cheap and seedy.

  • AnonWgtn

No Hotel Management will discus its guests publically whomsoever – even freebee Brown’s assignations.
