Subject: The deliberate confusing of the facts by mainstream media

Dear Cam, I am very concerned that mainstream media seem to be trying to deliberately take the focus away from the inappropriate actions of the Auckland Mayor elect and cloud it with the clutter of left wing horseshit.

It bothers me that, as a member of the public, I am seemingly unable to rectify this situation and we are effectively being represented by you alone, to ensure the truth of the matter is exposed.

Perhaps mainstream media (and Mr Brown) should ask themselves a couple of questions…..

1 Why do they think it a small matter that Brown provided a reference (and potentially more) for his clandestine lover, to a council department….?

2 Why wasn’t the relationship between Brown and his clandestine lover detailed at the time of the reference provision ( as any relationship between a prospective candidate and an existing employee at most all businesses must be declared before employment is commenced, or even references are checked)….?

3 How is it possible for this to be classed “personal” when Brown clearly acted in an inappropriate manner by seeking and conducting this clandestine affair during council time and on council premises and provided the reference in his capacity as Akl mayor…..?

4 This is not just a one off drunken or otherwise foolish mistake – this has been a prolonged and ongoing affair that lasted @ 2 years – this speaks volumes about Browns (and his left wing spin doctor team) willingness to depart from, hide and cloud the obvious truth.

5 Would I (as a member of the public) be offered classy rooms at up market hotels, free of charge to conduct my clandestine affair (clearly this again highlights Brown using his position of power for personal gain)….?

6 Possibly the most damning indictment to Browns lack of honesty and moral character, is the fact he had this affair for 2 years or so and ONLY came clean to his wife when he knew the game was up.

What options are open to me and other concerned members of the public to ensure Brown is held to task for his inappropriate actions, other than to happily continue to support Cam Slater to ensure the truth is put out into the mainstream media….?

As a closing point, I would say this situation worries me because of the way Brown is trying to depart from the truth and hang onto his job, the way the media are treating this by trying to deflect and confuse the simple facts that Brown did indeed conduct himself in an inappropriate manner.
Are we now only able to find the truth on the Whale Oil site….?

Don’t let the pressure up on Brown as the facts are simple – Brown has to go because he acted inappropriately in his capacity as Mayor of Akl and he can’t be trusted to do the job he was elected to do..

As much at home writing editorials as being the subject of them, Cam has won awards, including the Canon Media Award for his work on the Len Brown/Bevan Chuang story.  And when he’s not creating the news, he tends to be in it, with protagonists using the courts, media and social media to deliver financial as well as death threats.

They say that news is something that someone, somewhere, wants kept quiet.   Cam Slater doesn’t do quiet, and as a result he is a polarising, controversial but highly effective journalist that takes no prisoners.

He is fearless in his pursuit of a story.

Love him or loathe him.  But you can’t ignore him.
