Photo Of The Day

Helmut Newton

Helmut Newton (1920 – 2004)

Two Pairs of Legs in Black Stockings, Paris, 1979

The angle this photograph takes, tells the story, and leaves so much more unsaid …

Newton used to say to his students:  “It’s not art and it’s not good taste”

Newton managed to give prominence to sensuality, beauty, violence and humour, which according to his mind were characteristics of every person that is involved in the world of fashion and luxury.

He  broke all the rules and stereotypes that existed in the world of photography while adding his own personal touch and vision.

Helmut is considered to be a great artist, and not just a photographer,  a copy of this photograph will go for approximately US $ 52,500.
