Labour’s Expensive Leadership Election

The Labour Party is broke because Tim Barnett and Moira Coatsworth were dead set useless at fundraising.

As Mike “Fat Tony” Williams, New Zealand’s best shakedown artist, explains, if you don’t ask you don’t get.

It is a pretty simple proposition but Tim and Moira wouldn’t ask so they didn’t get.

This leaves Labour flat broke and not able to afford a leadership election.

It has been reported that the last leadership primary cost the party $80,000 and straight after an election it is highly likely that Labour are not only broke but also in debt.

This is disappointing for all of us who want another election because we like the blood sport and we would have to wait if they don’t have an election.

So can readers give their opinions on the following.

  1. Leadership contenders have to put in $25,000 to be allowed to enter. Put in or Piss Off rules apply.
  2. Whaleoil readers donate via this site to the Labour party so we can all enjoy the Labour leadership election.
