Tonight’s results – no need to watch T V

Good evening.  Gathering together all the intel, rumour, innuendo and a decent amount of guesswork, tonight’s result will be

  • National  46%
  • Labour 20%
  • Green 15%
  • NZ First 10%
  • Conservative 4%
  • Internet/Mana 1%

And the remaining 4% into:

  • ACT 0%
  • United Future 0%
  • Maori Party 0%
  • Other 0%
  • Wasted 0%

Due to the vagaries of MMP, electorate seats, dirty deals, overhang, wasted vote and tea leaves, the seats will be:

  • National 58
  • Labour 28
  • Green 20
  • NZ First 13
  • Conservatives 0
  • Internet Mana 0
  • ACT 1
  • United Future 1
  • Maori Party 3

Which means that National+Act+United+Maori can form another government with 63 seats.

It means that Labour will have no list MPs.  It means Kim Dotcom failed.  It means Laila Harre needs to go back to messing up the lives of the commercial sector via her union.  It means that the Maori Party will be the king maker, and Winston Peters’ last chance at leaving both a legacy and a trail of destruction have been denied to him.

Am I right?
