Chisholm Inquiry – New Zealand Herald Undermine Themselves

There has been some conjecture among the so called elite of the media regarding the “alleged Gapes smear”.  The report covered off this and a footnote at 42.

What Fran O’Sullivan and Matt Nippert do not realise is that Cactus Kate has already answered this in the Inquiry even though it is beyond the terms of reference of the inquiry.  They would like to think that Mark Hotchin (completely exonerated in the Chisholm report) paid to “stitch up” not only Adam Feeley but a serious charge of influencing a witness. He did no such thing.

Sadly for O’Sullivan, she is once again speaking without any knowledge on the topic and has become completely emotional and bias in her reporting.  Cactus submitted the following to the Inquiry and has given me permission to reproduce it in this instance due to the seriousness of the allegations and the malicious commentary from O’Sullivan on the topic so far.

Tony Gapes

 32. An email was sent on the 16th August 2012 by Mr Graham to Slater and myself about Tony Gapes. Ms Fran O’Sullivan, a veteran journalist but more importantly in this instance an actual witness in this Inquiry, immediately after appearing in front of the Inquiry mis-used her widely circulated forum to write an intimidatory and highly personal column about other witnesses in this Inquiry. This was a blatant attempt to politically pressure through her network built over many decades surrounded by Members of Parliament to force the Inquiry wider for reasons of her own personal vendetta in being named in the email released by the Prime Minister. She alleged criminal behaviour based amongst other things rather ironically including witness intimidation (Appendix A). I put together in the end just one piece on my blog mentioning Mr Gapes in August 2012 that was actually focused on two other individuals under investigation and their opportunistic behaviour in what seemed to be demanding a special payment or at worst secret commissions all over Wellington (details of the case are now I believe suppressed) that were picked up when the SFO were investigating another case. All information was already in the media and I was careful to ask for more detail from Mr Graham on 19th August 2012 (detail that I never received) and as the email shows I considered all “legal problems” attached. I cannot find any other posts or actions completed as a result of that post because I believe there were not any. The media themselves kept investigating the two individuals. There was absolutely no campaign against Mr Gapes resulting from Mr Graham’s email.

33. In any instance and most crucial to the allegations surrounding some sort of witness intimidation campaign on behalf of Mr Hotchin is that I did not receive or ask for any payment from Mr Hotchin after the work done to April 2012 and this email from Mr Graham is dated some four months after on 16th August 2012 and the resulting post likewise in August so definitely not part of the assignment of working for Mr Hotchin. Again just because it was discussed by Mr Slater or Graham as enthusiastic lay persons in an email as a proposal did not mean that it passed either my check for legal issues, was authorized by the client (who was no longer even the client) or otherwise made it on to a resulting blog post. The subject of this post ended up not being Mr Gapes but the two other persons allegedly requesting very large payments for their work because the angle was much more interesting which is why I termed it in the email on 21st August 2012 a “taniwha removal service fee”.

Fran O’Sullivan has already been proved wrong by the Inquiry and yet today has even tweeted Cactus had lunch with someone she has not even met since the beginning of the year.

The NZ Herald continues their Dirty Politics Derangement Syndrome…and not a single investigation into who the hacker is/was…here was me thinking they were investigative journalists.
