In this year’s Christmas Broadcast, commonly known as ‘The Queen’s Speech’, Her Majesty recalls the Christmas truce of 1914 as she speaks of reconciliation and forgiveness.

My mothers father actually fought at the Somme as a young German soldier. She recently unearthered some old memoirs of his from those days.

As a child of German and British parents, the Queens speech touched a few nerves.

I wish I knew the Queen’s secret! She spoke so clearly, in a pleasant accent, and looked good for an 88 year old. To think she has never missed giving a Christmas TV message for all these years. She certainly has lived up to the dedication she made as a young woman.

    Long live the Queen.

Myself I’ve had a guts full of the Royals. They do nothing and have an opinion of nothing. Where’s their opinion of how Britain has gone? Why don’t they open their mouths on the changing face of the UK? Are they really that irrelevant and mute?
Their words go along way to rally their subjects and they say nothing only the yearly rubbish we see from the Queen saying the same old platitudes about world peace and love and other verbal garbage.
I don’t hate the Queen or the Royals I just want them to stand up for their country, the Queen and country that many hundreds of thousands have died for over the centuries. What’s the point of dying for someone who, on the face of it, has no opinion of what’s happening in Britain. Surely they talk behind closed doors and know what’s going on in our streets, our cities, our whole British culture is being eroded deliberately by the BBC, MSM, academics, intelligentsia, universities and celebrities.
Do they realise that their lifestyle is at extreme threat at some point if they do nothing?
They are, or the Queen is in a unique position to rally the people of Britain to reject this failed experiment of mass immigration and of Islamisation of our cities and towns.
I want my Queen to stand up for her country and its true subjects instead of being told what to say by our quisling and cowardly PM and his Saudi and Qatari paymasters, plus Obama who is selling the UK down the river to oblivion.

Orion, I think you confuse the Monarch with various loud mouthed celebrities and Politicians around the world. What you describe is outside the ambit of the Queens responsibilities and powers.

“The monarch and his or her immediate family
undertake various official, ceremonial, diplomatic and representational
duties. As the monarchy is constitutional, the monarch is limited to
non-partisan functions such as bestowing honours and appointing the Prime Minister. ”

The peaceful enjoyment of our country, Australia, Canada is largely as a result of the form of Government with the Queens duties being exercised by the Governor General. Seems to work quite well, and is better than the abomination that is the American Presidency.

Prince Phillip is not shy in speaking his mind. He just says what everyone else is thinking. He’s been off the radar lately so old age finally catching up with him I think.

Thanks for posting this. First Christmas we have missed the Queens Speech as recording after the news finished abruptly! Tried to get it on u-tube last night but only spoof ones for 2014. Some hilarious. Her Majesty is a wonderful woman who has devoted her whole life to serving her people. I understand she writes her speech each year for Christmas. Most Impressive and always beautifully delivered.

There were strong rumours that the Queen would announce her abdication during her speech, but as it is broadcast in different countries at different times, we would have heard about it before the Poms. I have a huge respect for the Queen and the Royal Family. They are the glue that binds the Commonwealth together. If you don’t think they are, just wander up the Mall when you’re next in London, and you’ll be astonished when Buckingham Palace comes into sight, as the entire area in front of the Palace will be full of crowds of people. You can tell if the Queen is in residence or not by the presence of absence of the Royal Standard on the flag pole. When she’s not there, its simply a Union Jack. And even when she’s not in residence, those huge crowds will be there. We are the luckiest people in the world, and it’s very much based on the stability of our Royal family. The Americans are extremely envious. The US is the most powerful country in the world. They pine for a Royal Family. And a lot of those viewers at Buck House will be Yanks, and the rest will be mainly Europeans. God save the Queen and her successors. Therein lies our stability, our happiness and our freedom.
