Who is Andrew Little? Ctd – The angry images

Earlier I posted the images that the media have run to make Andrew Little look goofy, stoned or toasted.

There are also the ones who make him look like the union bully boy that he is. Small, angry, sneering and unlikeable.

Remember this is the man who thinks employers are parasites.

Is that the ISIS symbol?

Is that the ISIS symbol?

His performances in parliament are either lacklustre and boring or spittle flecked rants of invective.

It is pretty hard not to come to the conclusion that Andrew Little is an angry man, predisposed to his anger by his diminutive height and union boss background.

Andrew Little

Dour, grim, nasty, and unlikeable…as well as the other side of the same coin that is Andrew Little, goofy, stoned or toasted.

“Little is advertising for a new chief press secretary to head the
party’s media and communications strategy, and the successful applicant
is expected to ensure Little appears “in a positive story on the 6pm
news at least twice a week”.

    from Stuff.co.nz…

Need to ask (a)Did David Cunliffe also have this? and (b) if not, what makes Andrew Little’s situation so special?

    • ex-JAFA

      (a) I don’t know, but (b) he’s hoping to stay in that seat a wee bit longer than Cunliffe did, and needs all the help he can get.

    • The problem there of course is that either the press/pr person makes up the positive stories or Angry Andy will actually have something positive to say. Now there’s a challenge. That he has to specify this says a great deal about him not feeling very secure. If he is half the leader he thinks he is then this shouldn’t be an issue. Sad really …

  • Daniel

A sufferer of short man syndrome maybe?

  • RobT

    Gee .. ” Don’t Hold Back” …pleeease!
Can’t say that I’m a fan of him or his party, but for crikey sakes be a little bit nice?

    • dgrogan

Why? When he invited the PM to, “cut the crap”, was he being a little bit nice. The guy’s a union shyster.

      • RobT

Yup hear what you are saying….but!
There’s a very good saying in sales and other areas.
“Don’t rubbish the opposition, they will do it for themselves and will then quietly bury themselves”
This applies I feel with this leader and Labour and the Greens.

  • Sally

Well he is looking for a new media person to improve his image and appear in a positive light twice a week on TV. And also increase his facebook and twitter likes. The trouble with social media a lot of people follow not because they like you. Cam was helping out the other day by encouraging us to follow him (Little) on twitter.
However it is going to be a huge challenge for the successful candidate starting from ground zero.
Also the images are out there already they are not going away – they will be dragged up time after time. Can’t delete history.

    • R&BAvenger

“…to improve his image and appear in a positive light twice a week on TV.”

      This springs to mind:

  • Captain Darling

“Dour, grim, nasty, and unlikeable” and those are his good traits.

    • MaryLou

If you look at the trajectory of the mouths on the ladies behind him in photos 2 and 3, I’m spotting a similarity.

      • The wildman

Yes all 3 of them.small breeding stock perhaps?

  • Sais

John Key is short too. I towered over him when I meet him & I’m 5 10′.
Can anyone advise who is shorter of Andy & John?

    • dgrogan

The PM might be short in stature, but he’s a giant when it comes to being a likeable politician. He may be a little bit tarnished now I agree, but still towers head and shoulders above Angry Andy Little.

      • Steve

Its not tarnish… Its the satin patina of wisdom and experience

    • jonesboy70

Muldoon was a lot shorter as I met him a few times but was a powerful politician

      • Wheninrome

He was known to wear “raised heel” shoes.

  • Curly1952

How tall, I mean short, is Mr Angry?

    • Hard1

The key tell is always in the shoes…

    • JMC7

From memory about 5’10” -5’11”. Taller than John Key anyway.

      • dgrogan

        What? That’s short? I’m crushed.

        • JMC7

Yeah, hardly a shortarse is he? I get us calling him “Little” Andy, ’cause that’s his name. But some of the people here seem to be confusing that with him actually being short when he’s not.

  • T. Akston

That mouth just ain’t made for smiling is it.

  • Builder

Every time I see him he reminds me of the angry farmer on ‘Shaun the Sheep’

    • Wallace Westland

      I’m so not gonna ask!

    • edee

Its been bugging me for ages who he reminds me of and then BINGO! … and here he is. Good old Postman Pat, they must be brothers.

      • Hard1

The A. Little story, as mirrored in the movie “The Postman”..?.

The film—like the book—follows the story of an unnamed nomadic drifter, after escaping from a “neo-fascist” militia, he stumbles across the uniform of an old United States Postal Service letter carrier and soon unwittingly inspires hope through an empty promise of aid from the “Restored United States of America”.
Released on Christmas Day of 1997 from Warner Bros. Pictures, The Postman was loathed by critics, an enormous box-office failure, and received five Razzie Awards, including Worst Picture, Worst Actor and Director (both for Costner), and for Worst Screenplay and Worst Original Song (for the entire song score).

        • edee

Just had a look at the shorts on You Tube, think I’ll be giving it a miss, looks as boring as Angry Andy. Interesting to see Tom Petty has a part in it … he needs to stick to singing.

  • shykiwibloke

haha – look at the Ad headline I get under the last picture…Goes with the picture in a number of contexts….. Almost a caption contest!

    • shykiwibloke

Just came back to this page and the new headline under the picture is “Stroke Research”….

  • Cadwallader

By December he’ll be gone. Who will be the next leader of Labour (read: lamb to the slaughterhouse?) Who cares?
Isn’t believing in trades unionism as odd as believing in dragons
    ghouls and trolls?

  • The wildman

With a jaw like that no wonder he was’nt breastfed.he was probably weaned on a stone statue.and given that a run for its money.poor statue.

  • jonesboy70

God, full of sex appeal too.Is he married or one of Helen Clark’s type

  • Reaper

I can’t see him appealing to female voters. In my experience most women dislike angry, shouting men. He could lose even more of the female vote than Cunliffe.

    • Wallace Westland

Cunliffe lost the male vote when he was sorry for being one of them. He lost the female vote when they realised he’d rather be one of them.

    • mommadog

I bet he will name Jacinda as his deputy to try to get the female vote. Then he will try to take Annette kings safe seat because he can’t win one by himself. Those moves will have half the party backstabbing him and it will be back to square one for them before the next election.

  • Grocersgirl

As someone who can just about guarantee to cringe whenever she sees an unposed or random snapshot of herself I must say I think some of these comments are over the top. Andrew Little cannot help his height, the shape of his jaw or the need to wear spectacles any more than any of the commenters here can. When did the National Party ever take these things into account when selecting a leader?

    • Garbageman

Have to disagree there Grocersgirl they took the gloves off in the run up to the last election, how many times did they take personal attacks to Cam and JK, and still do, so as far as im concerned they are all fair game, there is no moral high ground when dealing with the left ideology only beat them down or they will beat you down (by they i mean Labour, the Standard, Bradbury and their sycophants)

    • JMC7

Yeah, I kind of agree. I wouldn’t vote for him, because his and his party’s policies suck. But I know Andrew Little (or at least I did a long while ago) and he’s not short and has a sense of humour. Like many of us, his eyesight has failed him as he’s aged and he chooses not to wear contacts as I’m sure many pollies do (yeah, looking at you Goff).

There’s enough capital to be made playing the Labour ball without playing the man, and Little’s utterances and pronouncements are clearly fair game. But leave the guy’s appearance alone.

The moment he has a go at Cam’s (or Key’s) personal characteristics though, go for your life.

      • Missionary

        Spot on.

    • Ilovelife

I honestly believe a person’s personality shows through in their looks after about the age of 30, in some cases earlier. It is how we sub consciously judge people. Amiable people look amiable, bitter people look bitter, devious people (on the whole) look devious and angry people, like angry Andy, look, well, angry. It’s nothing to do with the face he was born with but all to do with his well developed anger, bitterness and resentment written on his face for all to see.

  • Disinfectant

    All “finger pointers” are losers.
It is a subconscious sword jabbing at the recipient of ones utterances.
No Statesman has to finger point.

  • timemagazine

With a prim minister like him NZ would become the laughingstock of the international media. God protect us for this.

  • Agree with the the angry union guy comment, but short guy syndrome??

    • Soleman

Little man with a big man inside trying to get out

    • Nige.

  • Rex

Methinks the public will very soon tire of Angry Andies Antics. Mr Personality Minus. I have yet to see his wife anywhere. Does she exist? Is she embarrassed to be seen with him?
