RE: tape cassettes, i bought my first ever album on one. However i’m still intrigued and confused to what an “8 track” is. I buy albums in vinyl these days

    • Nige.

My first tape was “vanilla ice”. Sad. So so sad.

      • I don’t think I ever bought a tape that wasn’t blank. I was the king of the mix tape I was.

        • Nige.

…and spent hours upon hours of your time pushing “rewind, stop, play, rewind, stop play, rewind, stop, play” which after a year or two (or once “accidentally” destroying the tape deck was justifiable ) became “rewind, play, rewind, play, rewind, play”….. oh oh and rewinding your tape by slipping it onto a bic pen and spinning it around at a consistent speed….and slowing down at the end so as to avoid snapping the tape!

oh the memories. These kids dont know what they are missing out on.

            Stop, collaborate & listen…..

Trying to stop it recording before the announcer starts speaking and they used to butt into the song early.

And then the mix CD. There is a real art to a proper mix. Explained here….

Hell’s teeth! Where’s a moderator or a bouncer when you need one?

      • George Costanza

i dunno Nige, your a part of a bit of history there, kind of like MC hammer. My first album/tape was Fat Boy Slim…

      • Murray Smith

My first tape and album was Dam The Torpedo’s by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Cost $7.99 and dam was I proud !

      • ex-JAFA

My first tape was a gift from my brother. It had Cleaning Cassette’s Magic Moments on one side and Cleaning Cassette’s Golden Greats on the other. The album names appeared to have been written on in biro under the commercially-printed band name.

UK was daft ever joining the EU. Always did my head in that did. Why would you take a healthy prosperous economy and wed it to a basket case?
Be like Michael Douglas marrying a chick 30 years younger than himself and expecting it to last…oh….wait…

But man, she is hot! She is like an alien sent here to be the ultimate female!

  • symgardiner

Cameron should be safe. However the big question is how much UKIP climbs into the LibDems and Labour vote. They could potentially get the Conservatives over a barrel in which case the UK will drop the EU.

  • caochladh

Talking elections, I’ll bet there are a lot of relieved people in Scotland that the majority decided not to go with the Salmond idiot and his pipe-dream of running the country mainly off the proceeds of North Sea oil

I’d like to see our own version of UKIP, specifically one that seeks parity with Australia for rights and conditions of migrants between (either up to NZ standard in Aus, or down to Aus standard in NZ, not bothered which).
