Are we really all Charlie?

It’s a good questions and one Andrew Bolt asks, he surmises that sadly no, we aren’t all Charlie.

PROTESTERS around the West, horrified by the massacre in Paris, have held up pens and chanted “Je suis Charlie” — I am Charlie.

They lie. The Islamist terrorists are winning, and the coordinated attacks on the Charlie Hebdomagazine and kosher shop will be just one more success. One more step to our gutless surrender.

Al-Qaeda in Yemen didn’t attack Charlie Hebdo because we are all Charlie Hebdo.

The opposite. It sent in the brothers Cherif and Said Kouachi because Charlie Hebdo was almost alone.

Unlike most politicians, journalists, lawyers and other members of our ruling classes, this fearless magazine dared to mock Islam in the way the Left routinely mocks Christianity. Unlike much of our ruling class, it refused to sell out our freedom to speak.

Its greatest sin — to the Islamists — was to republish the infamous cartoons of Denmark’s Jyllands-Posten which mocked Mohammed, and then to publish even more of its own, including one showing the Muslim prophet naked.

Are we really all Charlie? No, no and shamefully no.

No Australian newspaper dared published those pictures, too, bar one which did so in error.

I did. Back then when the Danish cartoon controversy erupted, I published all of them plus the Charlie Hebdo cartoons in 2012. None of our media did though.

The Obama administration three years ago even attacked Charlie Hebdo for publishing the naked Mohammed cartoon, saying it was “deeply offensive”.

President Barack Obama even told the United Nations “the future must not belong to those who slander the Prophet of Islam” and damned a YouTube clip “Innocence of Muslims” which did just that. The filmmaker was thrown in jail.

We are all Charlie?

Not even close.

In Australia, Charlie Hebdo would almost certainly be sued into silence, to the cheers of some of the very protesters now claiming to be its great defenders.

Victoria now has absurd religious vilification laws, thanks to Labor, that were first used to punish two Christian preachers who at a seminar quoted the Koran’s teaching on jihad and — complained the judge — made their audience laugh.

Australia also has oppressive racial vilification laws which Prime Minister Tony Abbott had promised to relax but last year decided to keep, saying changing them would become a “complication” in making Muslim Australians side with the rest of us against jihadists.

One more surrender, and did you note how most “serious” journalists brayed for this muzzle? Celebrated when two of my own articles were banned?

But our journalists haven’t really needed a muzzle. They have been only too eager to shut themselves up rather than call out the growing threat of jihadism, brought to us by insanely stupid programs of mass immigration from the Third World.

Ahhh immigration…the elephant in the room. What is it with Muslim immigrants who leave their impoverished crap-hole countries and want to import the same tired medieval dogma into our country. We need big signs at the airport for people to leave their old ways at the border. Fit In or F*ck Off needs to apply to all immigrants.

When Dutch political leader Geert Wilders toured Australia to warn against the danger Islamism posed to our physical safety and our freedom, he was treated as a pariah and the protesters who pushed and heckled his audience were handed the microphone instead.

When jihadists screaming “Allahu Akbar” shot dead US soldiers at Fort Hood or coffee shop patrons in Sydney, ABC and Fairfax journalists pretended they had no idea what ideology could have motivated such slaughter.

When Boko Haram jihadists screaming “Allahu Akbar” kidnapped nearly 300 Nigerian schoolgirls, forcing them to convert to Islam and selling them to be raped, Islamist apologist and terrorism lecturer Waleed Aly refused even to acknowledge on Channel 10 that Boko Haram actually had an Islamist agenda, describing it merely as a group of vigilantes.

And when SBS filmed the then Mufti of Australia, Sheik Hilaly, praising suicide bombers as heroes in the Lakemba mosque just days before the September 11 attacks, it refused to air the footage for fear we might get the “wrong idea”.

This will go on. Be sure of it. Your ruling classes will not easily admit to having made an error that cannot now be fixed. It will prefer oppression to freedom, if that brings at least the illusion of peace — and many may even think they are right.

No, it’s not Islam…Islam is the religion of peace they all intone. Everywhere in the world that has mass Islamic immigration now has problems. It is only a matter of time before it is our turn.

Hear already the lies.

You are told Muslim groups condemn the killings as unIslamic. Yet the Koran and Hadith preach death to unbelievers who mock Islam, and tell of Mohammed killing poets, singing girls and others who made fun of him.

No greater authority than the Ayatollah Khomeini, the then spiritual ruler of Iran, ordered the killing of writer Salman Rushdie for making mock of Islam in his The Satanic Verses.

We are also told the pen is mightier than the sword, but tell that to the people in the Charlie Hebdo office who found their fistfuls of pens no match for two Kalashnikovs.

Tell that now to even the brave leaders of Jyllands-Posten, who, after years of jihadist plots against their staff have had enough, refusing now to republish cartoons from Charlie Hebdo for fear of yet more attacks.

“It shows that violence works,” it admitted.

Everywhere you will find other papers making the same call.

We are all Charlie?

Bull. Absolute self-serving rubbish. The sell-outs are everywhere and will grow stronger.

The West’s political leaders have already told Muslim leaders they agree that mocking Islam is a sin, and have even passed laws — in France, too — making it unlawful.

They have attacked the very few journalists and politicians who dared warn against the Islamist threat.

Some now back Muslim demands for a boycott of Israel or at least greater recognition for the terrorists who run large parts of Palestinian territory.

Anything for peace, even if it means
submission.

And for all the protests this past week, submission is what you must expect.

Islam is Submission…that is the true meaning of Islam, submission to the patriarchal, medieval dogma of a mass murdering paedophile.

I won’t be submitting and it sounds like Andrew Bolt won’t be either.

That is a very well written piece of the sort you will never see from a NZ Churnalist. What was disturbing was the number of apologists who sprang up in the comments section.

With all the talk of media self-censorship and “Je suis Charlie”, does this mean if someone posted a simple ascii art cartoon portraying mohammed it would not be deleted from this blog, but it would have been, say, 10 days ago, before the attack?

    • thehawkreturns

      ooh, nice.

  • kiwirog

The media have only become “outraged” after some of their own got gunned down and they have only got truly excited when a hashtag started “trending”. Where was the wall-to-wall coverage when the 132 children got gunned down in Pakistan? Sydney “slightly outraged” our press because it was close, Ottawa hardly a mention over here etc.

    • twr

They are the sacred guardians of all that’s good and true, so of course will become incensed if someone tries to challenge them.

“What is it with Muslim immigrants who leave their impoverished crap-hole countries and want to import the same tired medieval dogma into our country.”

I’ve been pondering this one myself for a long, long time. It suddenly hit me when reading this post why this is the case. My reasoning is as follows:

These people believe that their religion is 100% correct in every way, and following it will make everything good. What they fail to understand is that following this thinking and dogma is precisely why the place they came from is an impoverished crap-hole in the first place. They’re not intentionally trying to turn our place into a crap hole, they just fail to understand (as we understand) that their beliefs will turn our place into their crap-hole.

  • thehawkreturns

Thank you for publishing this. The MSM are run by cowards. Its the 1930’s all over again. Why, when we try to reveal Islam for the hate-cult that it is, do we look like Churchill and his small group of supporters trying to convince the vast majority of the British parliament that Hitler and the Nazi’s were pure blooded evil and that appeasement would not work and that it would lead to a World War? At that time the press and the BBC were almost uniformly cowardly appeasers like our own NZ Herald and television. Only very reluctantly when war was declared did the MSM switch sides. Expect nothing of them, particularly the cartoonists.

  • JC

Well, whaddayaknow.. here’s a UK Muslim MP having a serve at his own people telling them they have to own the problem.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2905372/It-lazy-claim-Paris-terror-attacks-Islam-British-Muslims-need-tackle-extremism-says-minister.html

An interesting point arises here.. a lot of this terrorism is homegrown ie, committed by citizens of the country they are attacking. Christ had the answer for this.. Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar and the things that are of God, to God.

In other words we all have dual responsibilities.. we cannot evade our responsibilities to the country and place religion or race or even individuality ahead of our responsibility to be a good citizen.. we cannot make the excuse that religion made or allowed me to kill my fellow citizens.

Thats my point.. modern human survival and growth depends on civility ahead of religion, culture or personal idiosyncrasy.

    • dgrogan

I think we get that. But Muslims? Not so much.

  • cows4me

Many of these Liberal loving countries have brought it upon themselves, UK, Aussie governments have made construed drives to neuter their populations though disarmament. Whether this is deliberate, I believe it is, or not the citizens in these countries are simply lambs to the slaughter. A well armed citizenry has the ability to defend themselves. I wonder how brave many of these Islamic scumbags would be if they knew there was a chance that the next attack could be met in return fire. In the end the only way to fight this evil may be to allow the law abiding to carry a concealed weapons. At the present time radical Islam isn’t our greatest danger, it’s the sickly do nothing appeasers, politicians that have their heads sand and laws that allow scumbags to peddled their madness without challenge.

    • jay

Nope that will just lead to even more harm, ie accidental shootings, road rage incidents being resolved with gunfire etc etc

Action always beats reaction. You wouldn’t have time to draw your weapon, and the assailants modify their tactics if they know the targets can defend themselves anyway. Try shooting back at a car bomb for example. Plus the knock down rate with a pistol is only 50%, and if they’re wearing body armour it’s far less. Never take a pistol to a rifle fight.

The instinct to arm ourselves is a primitive instinct that would backfire.

      • cows4me

Still rather have the choice than just stand there waiting.

      • Albert Lane

It’s strange you should say that. On the night of 31 January 1968, the Viet Cong attacked South Vietnam on several fronts, one of them being in Saigon. Saigon was nominally a semi-demilitiarised city where only those who were required to carry arms for specific duties were permitted to carry them, and because I was staying in an American billet, I had no reason to be armed when off-duty. We had a couple of armed soldiers guarding the outside of the building, and one in the foyer. During the night, we came under sustained fire from an adjacent building, and as my two US room-mates were absent on duty, I was alone flat on the floor of that room. It was a pitch-black night, the building’s walls were paper-thin, and I had no way of knowing whether the billet had been over-run by the VC. Put yourself in that position, and you’ll have some idea how I felt. I would have been happy to have a weapon – any weapon, and at least I’d go down fighting, but to be unarmed and defenceless was something I found very difficult to come to grips with. I eventually crept across a corridor to a room occupied by some GI’s and they let me in. None of them had a fire-arm. But they had a knife. That knife was our salvation. And protected by a GI with a knife, I was able to retain my composure and confidence for the rest of that long night, knowing that we’d be okay. It’s only when such a thing actually happens to you, that you would have any idea how it affects you. The fact that one GI had that knife made all the difference. There’s a lot more to that story, but I’m still here today, and that for me is an outcome that still amazes me.

Islamic extremism and extremist values have literally nothing of value to offer or advance any free western and secular society.

The West and it’s incorporation of and tolerance of Islamist extremism/Islamic State/Sharia devotees needs to be addressed urgently. Our highly evolved laws that have seen us become secular, inclusive and tolerant are backfiring most appallingly when we’re faced with these narcissists.

Citizenship is a privilege not a right and prospective immigrants need to pledge to adhere to and uphold secular law as it relates to family and society, respecting all others rights to freedom of speech and accept that all women hold a fully equal part within the home and society and are not to be subjugated to any man.

    • thehawkreturns

Islam and the West are incompatible. Act now or the entire Western world will be gone in a century, the European part in 30 years. Geert Wilders PPV Party has already pointed out that Holland’s top scientists are leaving in droves.

  • jay

So well written. And so true.

As I’ve said before, freedom to offend and be controversial is what free speech actually means.

There should be absolutely zero discussion on the rights and wrongs of the magazine and what they publish. No ifs, buts or maybes.

  • Alright

A few statistics from the Sydney Morning Herald:

“An investigation by Kings College London and the BBC World Service
found that in a single month, November 2014, 5042 people were killed by
jihadists in 664 separate attacks across 14 countries. That is one death
    every eight minutes.

It is ongoing. On Thursday, the Islamist group Boko Haram (which translates as “Western education is forbidden”) is believed to have murdered up to 2000 people in Nigeria. These crimes, far greater in scale than those in Paris, received only a
    fraction of the attention.

In the 35 years since the Islamic revolution in Iran in 1979, at least a million people have been killed in tens of thousands of jihad attacks, religious civil wars or wars
    between predominantly Muslim countries.”

The words Out_Of_Control come into sharp focus.

    • jay

It’s amazing isn’t it. I’ve got no sympathy for any moderate Muslim either. If I was a christian and i was faced with stats like that I’d be so ashamed I’d throw in the towel and become a Bhuddist.

      • Alright

Kind of funny you should say that….

      • intelligentes candida diva

Not me, I am a Christian ( probably one that GOD face palms and shakes his head over but have my faith).
All this does is make me say “bring it on one to one debate with any coward who wants to behead me while I go about living my life”

I refuse to survive to live, or live to survive, I live to enjoy the life I have.

The saddest aspect to me is not all in The Quran is bad or tyrannical (of what I have read) but its fanatical followers and clerics and one in NZ present as intolerant and un accepting to allow those who do not accept the tenets to live as they see fit. It also seems that The Quran lacks teachings on “turning the other cheek” .

Perhaps if there had been the talking before raising the threat, sword and gun more win win situations may have been achieved but now I think it is too late.

  • botti

Bolt hits the nail on the head pointing out the stupidity and sheer negligence of policies to import large numbers of people from vastly different cultures. Surprise, surprise, there are tensions and conflicts.

In France for example 70% of the prison population is Muslim. There are no-go areas where police and emergency services tend to avoid.

The Media and elites have all accepted this state of affairs, because they fear being seen to discriminate, or that they’ll be called Nazis. The West is a bit like a patient whose auto-immune cells are malfunctioning. Rather than warn the host of the invasive cells causing damage, they turn against the host with cries of “r*cism” and “islamophobia”. So the natural response (to tighten up the entry criteria) is disarmed.

  • papagaya

An extraordinary finding by Paul Sheehan today for the Sydney Morning Herald: Australian Muslims are statistically more likely to engage in jihad than to enlist in the Australian Defence Forces.

  • BloodyOrphan

The problem is no one is really facing the facts …

Muhammad is a sociopath, he used the Koran to justifying his psychotic behaviour.

I’ve spoken this to sane civilised devout Muslims and they agree with me.

If you speak it to a Muslim and they react with Anger, threats of violence or acts of violence then they should be in prison and on a terrorist watch list.

This statement holds true for everyone, Muslims included, it’s about time sociopathic behaviour was highlighted, and the public given appropriate ways to see it for what it is and respond to it properly.

There is no such thing as a prophet, God is by definition a silent creature, to say the Christian God is the same as Allah is a fraudulent lie, they are texts written by sociopaths trying to control the masses end of story.

  • IKIDUNOT

In the past few weeks we had two examples (Australia and now France) where the Western world en masse reacts in ‘shock and horror’ to horrendous islamic terrorist acts in those two countries…..great. I just wonder though why we have such a selective reaction. Where are and were the mass outcries to the much greater killings taking place this weekend in Nigeria: using 10 year old girls as ‘suicide’ bombers, for God sake what’s next? Where is/was the mass outcry to the frequent murders by Hamas terrorists of Jewish civilians? And the list goes on…..

Maybe the mass outcries in Australia and now in France reflect the powerlessnes and lack of guts Western governments (and the majority of its citizens) have to structurally deal with murderous Islamic fanatics and the breeding grounds in our home countries?

Just curious to see if all this show of ‘force’ is actually going to make any difference; I don’t hold my breath….and in the meantime the mullahs hiding in their caves in Yemen are achieving what they are planning to achieve.

  • Effluent

In all seriousness, the few media that continue to publish cartoons to which islamist will take exception are performing a very valuable service, at significant risk to themselves, and should be recognised for it.
There is no guarantee of free speech, freedom of association, and freedom of religion ( or no religion) beyond the willingness of individuals to defend it, and our spineless MSM have clearly shown that they lack this will except in favour of causes they support .
