    I just read the link to Hitlers mixed feelings….. Reads as though the Japanese had already drawn up their own province’s/prefecture’s as though it was a foregone conclusion.

    Lesson: don’t count your chickens before they hatch.

      I’ve visited a couple of camps the Germans set up in Poland/Austria and they are very well built, permanent structures. Yep they certainly expected to win alright.

    Seriously scary stuff – war averted thanks to that alert Soviet radar operator who knew that their radars were dodgy.

    If it had been a new radar operator…. I shudder to think.
