    He started off as a socialist but got a bit frightened of where socialism was going – could have saved himself a lot of trouble if he’d just read what Churchill had been saying for many years, and might even have picked up a clue or two as to islam.
    But, being a socialist at heart he couldn’t bear to admit a Conservative might be right, let alone that he had been right all along, and on practically everything.
