Pommy Election – Hung Parliament Predictions

The pommy election is harder to pick than a broken nose.

It is interesting to watch because no one seems to have any real idea of what is going to happen after the election which could mean a period without a government. That may actually be better than a period with a government as the government can usually be relied on to bugger things up.

Here are some useful prediction sites to follow so you don’t end up making an idiot of yourself by tribally supporting whatever party you favour.

May 2015: this site does a nice comparison of several predictors

Election Forecast: These guys are providing 538s predictions so will be pretty good.

Elections Etc

It takes 326 seats to win a majority.

Unfortunately for the UK they don’t have any inspiring leaders, Cameron is a toff that is average and Miliband is a bit ‘spethial’.

I’m looking forward to seeing how UKIP go, I have a lot of mates still over there, in rural areas the sense is that a lot of people will vote for Farrage and UKIP, 4 of my closest mates, 2 each Tory and Labour are all voting for UKIP, it will be the first time since 1979 they have voted for anyone else ! I find that fact alone worthy of mention, it says a lot to me..

The UK public have awoken to the very real risks their society faces from immigrants intent on their destruction, and the realisation that both Cons and Lab are parties of inaction and vacuous platitudes.

They would be better off with an MMP type system in that respect wouldn’t they? UKIP will get a large number of votes, but it might split the ‘Conservative’ vote. The sad thing is the Conservatives aren’t really conservative. They’re just preach neo-liberal economics and are otherwise as liberal as Labour.

Its took them long enough, immigration both organised and smuggled was rampant during the Blair / Brown years and they ran from 1997-2010. UKIP is a result of total disillusionment with the process and the only reason it is ever an election issue.

Have enough of them awakened. Or is it just too late for them?

This for me will be the one to watch too. I think they could turn out to be a real wildcard. It will tell us a lot about where the Brits see Britain going that’s for sure. Will many have the intestinal fortitude? I doubt it. But will they surprise some people? Watch this space.

My brother, who lives in the UK, is now strongly for UKIP. An ex serviceman, he believes that the mamby pamby left with their PC rubbish and all inclusiveness have ruined the UK. They want to ‘take it back’.

    • James

The biggest problem for UKIP is that their support is strong but widespread. They are therefore unlikely to get too many seats – even though they’ll get far more support than the Lib Dems. The Lib Dems are lucky in that respect as their support tends to be much more focused.

Under a PR system UKIP would easily hold the balance of power and the UK would no longer be stuck in a trade block with the only continent that isn’t growing – and be able to start trading freely with the rest of the world!

Yep, I reckon the minor “issue” parties will hold sway. Who to chose from, Scottish national party, who want an independent scotland, UKIP, who want out of europe or lib dems, who just want in on government.

SMP still wants to extract Scotland from the Union. And yet Labour needs the SMP to govern. Britain should let them go, right now, in the middle of an oil glut, and without compensation. Then the SMP can use all of its MPs to work solely for the benefit of Scotland, as the country will be up to its nostrils in debt and deep-fried Mars Bars from day one and will need its finest political minds to ensure the restless population can make a go of living without support from Britain.

I rate Cameron as the worst and most evil PM that the UK has ever had.
I say that due to his *insane* immigration policy and his nonsensical witterings that every Islamic terrorist attack “has nothing to do with Islam”.

I’d *love* to see UKIP do really well in the election.
