I wonder who?s busy trying to get himself a job at the UN?

John Key is tone deaf at the moment and pandering to wombles at the UN…is he setting up his exit strategy?

Prime Minister John Key will not rule out taking in more Syrian refugees if required after delivering a speech about the plight of those refugees at the United Nations.

In his speech to the General Assembly, Mr Key criticised the Security Council for failing to act in the of the greatest refugee crisis since World War II.

Speaking afterward, he said he did not believe he was being hypocritical by preaching about the refugee crisis when New Zealand’s own contribution was to take 750 out of the millions of refugees.

He said New Zealand was doing “the best we can” across a range of areas but did not rule out doing more if it was necessary.

“I’m not going to rule out there could ever be more people taken on an emergency basis”.

“The advice we’ve had is that by taking the extra 250-odd each year we are starting to stretch the system a bit but as we’ve seen this is a fast moving situation.

Try and sell that to?the?public John…you’ll find it will be a popular as a pork chop at Mecca during Ramadan.

He really is tone deaf to the voters at the moment.

“As I pointed out in my speech, this is the worse refugee crisis the world has seen since World War II, so we’ll just give ourselves some room there.”

Yeah, well John Key is wrong there. There are other refugee crises that were larger…like the refugees from the Iraq wars?and Afghanistan since the Soviet invasion.

It all looks like John Key is trying to improve his CV for life after being PM.
