Crowd chants Allahu Akbar during minute “silence” for Paris terror victims

Watch this first.

Turkish fans booed and chanted Allahu Akbar (“God is greater”) during the minute’s silence for the victims of the Paris attacks before their national team drew 0-0 with Greece in a friendly international match on Tuesday (Wednesday NZ time). …

English and French fans in London united for a rousing, stadium-wide rendition of “La Marseillaise” ahead of the friendly match which England won 2-0.

… [A]nother terrorist bomb threat forced the friendly between Germany and the Netherlands to be cancelled 90 minutes before kickoff at the Hanover stadium.

Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu and Greek counterpart Alexis Tsipras watched the game in Istanbul together, in a sign of reconciliation between the two neighbours, whose relationship has suffered from hostilities in the past.

A number of observations to make here.

  • I’m sick to the stomach
  • Politicians are not able or willing to represent their own people
  • These are “just” soccer fans, not sleeper cell Jihadis
  • These every-day Turks celebrate terrorism in the name of Allah
  • How can the West expect compromise?

Word to our politicians and their media enablers:  put your personal and party political views aside.  LISTEN TO YOUR VOTERS.   This is not about ticking off some UN to-do list.  Or a feel-good factor.    The Muslim world in general are rising up against our way of life.   Sure there is no clear and PRESENT danger to New Zealand.   Bar the 40 or so Mr Key says the GCSB is keeping an eye on, anyway.  Why are you looking overseas and saying “it won’t happen here”?   Is that a reasonable response to the continuous attacks over a decade against the West by Muslim interests?

You have exhausted the “lone wolf” excuse.  Now it’s “not all Muslims are the problem”.  How much more needs to happen before you stop being idealistic and protect your own citizens by placing them ahead of everyone else?   It’s your job to do so.

I pray to God that I’m wrong.  But if this stuff continues overseas, or worse, is visited upon us at home, the next election will be another coin toss and it won’t need a megalomaniac like Dotcom to turn it into a circus.

If you won’t do it out of sheer duty to your own country, do it out of naked self interest.

But do it.

  • Moratorium on Muslim refugees and Muslim immigrants – until things settle and we can have quality information and make quality decisions
  • Increase our NZDF commitment to taking the fight to them
  • Increase domestic surveillance on known Muslim radicals
