Today’s face of day Angela Rayner has had a ” Do you know who I am?” moment which has backfired on her. I don’t know what is more embarrassing, that she tried to use her position to threaten a shop or that she wanted to purchase the ridiculous shoes in the first place?

Angela Rayner, MP for Ashton-under-Lyne, had missed out on the unusual high heels due to overwhelming demand, which saw fans queuing up outside Irregular Choice in Brighton to get their hands on the coveted footwear.

She was so incensed that she penned an excoriating letter of complaint on House of Commons-headed paper in which she warned that the shop’s failure would “cost them.”

“I have only ever bought your shoes and I am loath to do so again, or recommend your shoes to others,” Ms Rayner wrote.

“I am writing to let you know that treating customers in that way will only cost you more in the long term,” she concluded, imperiously signing off as “Angela Rayner MP.”

The move backfired, as the letter found its way to The Sun newspaper, while Ms Rayner remains without a pair of Star Wars-themed shoes.
